Do you agree that money can buy happiness? A lot of people say it can't but then why do people end up stressed out if there's no money? on the other hand, with money, you can buy anything you like, even go places to de-stress.

i guess buying anything you like and go to so many places you want to go can make us happy for just a few weeks, or even days or hours. i think those people who end up being stress due to less money matters are the ones who wants more luxury. if they accept the fact that they can live without much money, they can be happy in every second of their lives. you can choose to be happy even you are less fortunate for the fact that you're still alive. i'm not sure that those who have lots of money are totally happy. they can be more stress than those who don't have enough money. i remember a quotation that says: "a boy look at the airplane and says 'if only i can fly to the sky' and the pilot saw the boy from the ground and says: 'if only i can go down and be with my family'" it only shows that people are not contented in where they are and what they have that's why they cannot feel the true meaning of happiness.

it cannot buy contentment, it could buy temporary happiness though.

in a way i agree that money can buy happiness... but it's not the kind of happiness that you will feel deep inside you and will last long. i think its just a sort of shallow kind of happiness, here today gone tomorrow kind. material things dont last and most people are not contented with a lot of things. that is why many wants to upgrade phones, cp, cars, new clothes, etc, etc... (the list goes on and on) there are those who are happy with just a little of everything as long as they are together with their family or their loved ones... that's lasting happiness, something money can't buy.

Of course it can buy happiness, when we say material things,we need money to buy it. So,it is possible to buy happiness. But,with contentment,we can not use money to gain it in our lives. have a great weekend ahead

yup money can buy happiness - only for a period of time. For e.g. a good holiday to a place you have always wanted to go to or a fanciful car. The good holiday will soon come to past and the fanciful car will become not so fanciful after awhile. Yes, one can always repeat the cycle. But what is Happiness to you? One can determine to be happy despite circumstances including money. So sitting by the beach can be happiness too. So I feel that Happiness is a state of the mind and can be achieved with or without money.

It actually depends on what makes you happy. Of course, purchases can't keep you happy forever, unless they're designer bags or shoes that you intend to keep for a very long time. But that's just me, since I do think that if you choose to be happy, you can be no matter what you do or buy. :)
