Christmas is near and a lot of people are too excited on it for the reason that they could recieve gifts from their friends/family... But really, is that the REAL essence of Christmas? What's the real meaning of Christmas for you? Does it really necessary to give/recieve gifts to/from your loved ones to celebrate Christmas? Why?

Hi there Wiwa 05! You're right! As soon as "Ber" months start, starting from September, with months eniding in "ber", some people start their countdown to Christmas day. I also try to shop for Christmas presents as early as that so that I would not be caught up with the rush. I think that giving presents is just symbolic. To give something tangible as a symbol of our love and appreciation for the person that we are giving them to. I think that's actually what the spirit of Christmas is. Reminding your loved ones how much you love them. Of course, it's not purely because of material things that you give. There are just lots of people who likes giving. If there are those who don't, then the gift of presence, time and attention is more than enough.
