Hey guys, have you ever heard of the Daniel Fast? It's really cool, I've done a few times and boy is it great! Actually, it's a bit harder than people think. Well, the name came from the actual man in the bible by the name of Daniel. The concept was borne out of the fact that Daniel, as a Hebrew slave, didn't want to eat from the King's table, as it would violate his loyalty to his people. So he asked the chief Eunuch to feed him only vegetables, and water. He said that he would keep him on that diet for 10 days, he would be more healthy than the other captives who ate the finest of foods from the king - true to form, he was right, and the chief let him maintain the diet. Here's how it works...you can any vegetable, fruit, and nuts. You only drink water, nothing carbonated, naturally or artificially sweetened (tea, soda, lemonade, etc). You cannot eat any bread, meat, or dairy products. The usual time frame for this fast is 21 days. I did this thing obviously for spiritual reasons, but I'll tell ya, I lost a ton of weight and really found a burst of energy I hadn't had since high school. Lemme know if you've tried this fast, or what you think about it okay? God bless

I have done the Daniel fast. Actually, I ate that way for several years as a general rule. I was a lot healthier for it too! I'm working toward getting back on it or at least a real close diet.
