Any romantic/comedy/shoujo/slice of life manga that you can recommend?

I would love to read some manga in my spare time and I've read quite a lot. I'll be more than happy to receive suggestions from my fellow mylotters/anime fans. Thanks!

Hmmm...the only series that I can think of at the moment with those genres are Skip Beat and Kimi ni Todoke. I don't know if you've read these yet but I only recall them because they have an anime counterpart too. Skip Beat is the story of a girl who goes into the acting field to get revenge on a girl who used and ditched her after he became a famous singer. Kyoko, the girl, eventually learns to love acting and the story is about her progress as an actress. The main guy, Ren, is a famous actor who initially didn't like Kyoko because he thought that she wasn't taking acting seriously. He eventually changes his opinion about her and starts to like her. But then Sho, the guy who used Kyoko, comes back into the picture and then the drama ensues. I like this series mainly because of Kyoko. She's a strong female protagonist. I also like her reactions to certain things. It's just too funny. Kimi ni Todoke's main female character started off as this outcast or loner. Her classmates were scared of her because she reminded them of the girl from "The Ring" movie. The truth is that she's a really shy girl who's too timid to make any friends. Things start changing when the popular guy, Kazahaya, starts talking to her. This one is a cute series.

Yeah, that's the downside since the wait is a killer. Have you given Tokyo Crazy Paradise a try yet? It's by the same mangaka as Skip Beat and it's a pretty good series. It's also complete so you don't have to wait on it.

I have read those two but aren't they ongoing series? I'm still waiting for updates on Skip Beat! and I'm really excited on what will happen next to Kyoko.

I strongly recommend Midori no Hibi. It's a perfect manga for the genre of romantic, comedy, shounen, and bit of action. It also has an anime adaptation with only 13 episodes. In case you haven't watched or read it yet, the story is about a guy who didn't even have a girlfriend for 17 years and being of rejected of every girl that he attempts to go out with because of his being infamous delinquent. But there is this one girl who's secretly in love with him but doesn't have the courage to approach or talk to him about her feeling. All she can do was just to stare at him at the train station. Until the day came the this girl became the guys right hand literally. Then that's how their story begins. The anime of Midori no Hibi was just recommended to me by my office mate so I decided to watch it. As I finish watching the anime, I got addicted to it and its soundtracks just keep on playing to my head for weeks. I did a research about this anime and found a trivia about a huge story difference between its anime and its manga. It is then that I decided to read its manga and I never got frustrated. I'm glad that I've watched the anime first before reading its manga. I also recommend it to my friends and even to my girlfriend who is not an anime fan but they became one just after watching it. They even ask for more but the anime did really end at episode 13. That was the time that I gave them the manga version. All of my friends that I recommend this, no one gave a negative feedback. Instead, they all fell in love with it too. -)

If you're planning to watch its anime, I suggest you do watch it first before reading the manga. One of the difference that I know its anime and manga is that the anime has 13 days while the manga has 88 days. So it's like that the anime is just a summary of the manga. Bet there are also scenes that only exist in the anime. Better see them both and start from the anime. -)

Over the weekend I've watched Midori Days and it was really cute and funny all the way but I'm still left wanting more. I'll look for the manga maybe this week.
