Watching television is good it can be sometimes stress relieving. But for children, we should choose movies that also fit to their age, like cartoons etc.. It really depends on us on what movies we allow them to watch. If we are also choosy parents then they wouldn't be violent as what they watch on tv. We should be very careful on what we allow children to watch because tv always minister to them. if they watch good moral movies then they will be good and if they watch bad moral movies then they will be likewise.

I don't find anything wrong with watching movies. Adults are able to watch without much serious influence on them because they know what's wrong and right and shouldn't even take movies seriously unless it is a informative movie or documentary. If children watch movies that are age appropriate, they shouldn't have a problem with violence or bad behavior. The only problem with that is if children are watching movies they aren't supposed to, such as The Departed. This doesn't make movies bad, it makes parents and guardians bad for letting children watch those kinds of movies

It can be both destructive and constructive. I mean, it'll actually depend on the type of movie that you will watch and the amount of time you spend watching. So, it has positive and negative sides. If you are going to watch or let a child watch violent or obscene, it will not be advantageous. Obviously it has disadvantages when the child grows. But if you will watch wholesome movies, it can truly make you relax.

Watching movies is good if you're trying to relax. It's never good to have more than enough of everything, except money. Lol

Yes and No. Yes, because some are a totally amusing, especially comedy and sci-fi. No, because some can create new ideas for violence, and some can create tension or stress, especially the super suspense thrillers. I remembered several movies on bank robbery. Lately, bank robbers in our country have diverse operations that enables them to rob a bank in just a few minutes and get away with it. So sad!

There are movies that are meant to be for adults or children. Definitely, children watching adult movies packed with violence and swear words is not good for kids. That's why there are agencies around the world that censor and rate movies to protect kids.

Depending on what you watch I think that movies are good! They can be educational in that they get you thinking seriously about what is going on in the movie and how you would handle things if you were to be placed in that situation. I don't think that children should be watching movies that contain violence and bloodshed as they are very impressionable when young and probably easily influenced! I think that parents need to take a strong stance on that! Otherwise, family movies are quite good and I particularly like movies that related to true stories! Anyway, that's life! Andrew

Okay I can see no harm in watching movies. Since my teenage years when my love of film really kicked off I have watched thousands of movies and I am not violent or have dark thoughts about doing evil things. In fact I have learnt a lot of important things from movies and they have lifted my spirits when needed. But I do believe that what children watch in the movies should be carefully monitored because childhood and innocence should be protected so allowing them to watch unnecessary violence is just wrong. And as for people saying that movies can turn people violent I disagree as I have watched more disgustingly violent movies than I care to admit but I was taught by my parents the difference between whats right and wrong and so what I watched didn't turn me into some psycho killer. And there is the important thing, if a child is taught what is right or wrong than what they watch will not turn them violent, they will see it fow what it is, on screen fiction and not something to want to be like.

hi , i don't think that's true just be sure that you explain scenes that needs explanation for example if there are violent scene in the movies , explain that this should not be done because if you do this the police may catch and jail you or God displeases violent action or you may tell them the alternative action that should be done instead.

For me, we still benefit from watching movies because some movies teach us a moral lesson although not all movies are good for viewing. Some movies, no matter what lesson you get, if it's really violent then you could say watching it is bad. As for children, watching movies like KILL BILL, WAR OF THE WORLDS, and 300 then i suggest don't let kids watch it. And for lewd movies? it goes without saying... :)

I believe most things in moderation are good. I think movies provide us with the ability to escape reality for a few hours and be entertained. Much like a book movies tell us stories just in a different way. Where people get into trouble is watching movies too often and losing touch with reality. Especially children that haven't fully developed their understanding of correct behavior.
