Asking the same questions ... AGAIN?!

Do you know someone who asks the same questions all the time? Like they never really learn? Well this is common for us in the workplace, right? When we have our own assigned task or we share the same process with our co-workers. It will come to a point we will notice we have this officemate who are already doing the work for quite sometime and everytime she/he asks you its just the same question again?! So if you were the person being asked, will you answer as if its the first time the question is asked, or would you already have told him / her that this has already been discussed in the past?

I will understand if my co-worker is just a newbie in the workplace and in the process, I will still answer the question. There are employees that lack confidence in their work, even if they know already what has to be done they would still keep on asking, but there are others that do not work by the heart. There should be a visible reference in your area for process and information dissemination.

hi chiyosan! well at my workplace, asking same questions is very usual thing for us. we need to make clarifications especially when it comes to giving medications. i work as a nurse in the operating room so most of the time we repeatedly as questions to clarify things before we transfer patients back to their units and endorse them complete and without errors.

I would let them know that I was already asked that question by another person, and then I would give them the same answer I gave the other person. It sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. You must work for a law firm because I've been in those types of situations where nobody knew what the hay was going on but they sure wanted to find out who to blame when it didn't go their way.

I will definitely answer the question. Although, the second and third one will absolutely be different compared to the first descriptive answer. I will make myself sure that the person asking me have already asked the question, and if he or she asked me more than once I would remind him or her that such question has been discussed several times.
