The topics that get responded to.

I noticed something extremely odd with a lot of the topics that I put out. Those topics that I throw out there on a whim, get far more responses. Then those topics that I think out for the most part, don't get that many responses. Not that I am complaining about getting any responses, just something curious. It just amusing that a topic that I thought up maybe a minute before posting is getting tons of responses and an idea that I have had in the backlog is not getting many responses.

Yes I have also the same feeling. Why some discussions posted by me do not get any response and some which posted casually get many responses. Once I started feeling that my thinking is not modern or stale and my topic is not hot in circulation. As you said it may be that some one has already started a discussion on the same topic. I also felt bad when I did not get response to some of the discussion I posted. What ever it may I respond to discussions I like and post discussions that interest me irrespective of response. Some times I receive greetings for the best response when I feel excited. We should take every thing in the right spirit....

Yes, sometimes you're not going to get any responses. Perhaps the topic has been beaten into the ground. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

We cannot compel others to respond to tour post. How can we?.I was only wondering as to why my discussion was not responded and what is wrong with my thinking or content I posted. It is all in the game.In the beginning I used to get upset. Now I take it easy in the right spirit.

true. i too experience this. that when i put up a topic that i had think so much about and plan on how to start it. but funny to realize that the discussion that is started out of fun or out of the bloom is the one who gets responded more. maybe because members wont have the hard time to think on what to say. i also sometimes dont like discussions that would eat much of my time thinking on what to say specially when i am in a hurry.

That is really it in a nutshell. People, no matter how much they don't want to admit it, they do not want to think. They want something a bit lighter. Which is more than fine with me, because I tend to look through topics that I can breeze through really quickly. Plus, you don't really want to make what is a hobby for the most part(even if it is one that pays), seem like a job. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

yes lots of people responds to topics that are abstract not an idea you think you have,so i think we should be more creative to get more response.

I experience this too. I guess maybe because we're putting it in the wrong interest and that's why we have less or even no response, like mine. Another thing could be that our moment of a sudden idea couldn't manage to catch fellow mylotters' attention.

I think many times it might seem like a good idea for us. However, what seems like a good idea in theory, is less so of a good one in practice. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yes this has happened to me as well. I think it is a matter of timing though, members are on at all various times of day and as luck would have it there are times when a post discussion received may 1 or 2 responses, but then the next day I get tons of responses on that very same discussion. To me it is a sense of timing really.

Yes, timing is everything. When its posted at a time where there are a lot of topics being posted, I have noticed that topics tend to get lost in the shuffle. Otherwise, it tends to get responded to in the evening/night, when I'm guessing people might work through the backlog of topics during the day. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

It seems the topics that you don't really have to think about means that other people don't have to really think about a response...so your likely to get more response to the thrown out there topics than the ones you had to think of.

Yes sometimes our discussions get many huge responses and it shown in top discussions. But sometimes it doesn’t get any response. So I think it is depend on people’s choice. They like it or not. Because I started many discussions and some of them don’t get any response so then I give my discussions link to one of mine friend for giving it to response. Because if your any discussions have 0 response then it never count. So it is must to at least give one response to discussions for counting it.

Indeed, people will like what they like. However, it is curious to see what they like. There are times where I just throw something out there and it really catches on. I guess it is just a matter of hit and miss. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Most of us here have the same experience. Not because of the topic has no value of discussion further but it relates to why nobody observe it and give response. Most of us will only give priority to reply the topic exist on the homepage after login rather than go and search for the topic to discuss. That is why some topic has no response...I guess..!!

I tend to agree with you. I get my topic ideas from things that are happening in my life. I stay away from the which websites (fill in the blank) type of topics that inundate the boards. i find the off the wall topics more interesting anyways. Every once in a while I will pull an idea from the news that i find interesting, and not a main headline.
