Here are some laws from the state of Alabama, USA. Go ahead! have a laugh! 1.It is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle. 2.It is unlawful to wear woman's pumps with sharp, high heels. 3. It is illegal for a husband to beat his wife with a stick larger in diameter than his thumb. 4. You cannot chain your alligator to a fire hydrant. 5. You may not have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at any time. 6. Putting salt on a railroad track may be punishable by death. I do not know whether they have been applied at any time, but they do make a good reading!

I think i maybe the one responsible with number 4. I mean, i thought it was safe to tie up mr. Croc on a fire hydrant but it seems it wasn't.

LMAO, That is very funny. Makes you kinda wonder why they were put into force though, maybe at the time they were written they had problems with people driving around blindfolded and people getting bitten by a alligators who were cross because their owner chained them to a hydrate while doing their errands, lol. So, I take it it is also OK to beat your wife there as long as you use the right size stick? Sounds like a tough place for a criminal.

I suppose with all those blindfolded drivers, alligator toting criminals walking around in pointy high heels it must seem like a pretty nutty environment. If I lived there, I would also stay away from the railroad tracks as well, wouldn't want to get blamed for salting the tracks!

A lot of these laws were probably made back when the towns and cities of Alabama, and really any state were first being formed, or even when the law enforcement offices were first being reigned. Some are probably true and were major offenses of their time, while some may have just been the work of a bored lawmaker after a suggestion from a citizen. Even so, they're funny to read.

It also shows the way our law makers don't see beyond the dust of times. How is that they were not repealed?

Yes, in the world of black robe and white wigs we need some colors to be entertained.

The ice cream one is really weird, I think it is the strangest law listed. I am thankful that husband are generally now really frowned upon when they beat their wives, no matter how small the stick is. And lastly, I hope people aren't walking around in Alabama with alligators on chains.

I don't think these laws can ever be implemented. Must be local laws of counties where the local bigwig has had a bad dream.
