My husband snores, my father snores, my little son snores, my brother-in-low snores... I have difficulties to fall asleep when someone snores next to me. What about you?

maybe because they feel so tired. we know that most of their time is using to work with their body. if u feel bother u should make your own room and stay away from them. i hope u will have a good sleep

I heard someone saying that it has to do with a instinct of protection. To save the family when lived in caves. Men had to make a loud noisy while sleeping to keep predadors away. It makes sense...

As I was told, I don't snore. But I can't say it's a rule that only men snore. My mother snores so loud that when my father snores, his noise can't be heared by the noise my mother does. I don't mind the noise they make, I use to sleep easily, my sleep is not disturbed by their snoring in the room next to mine.

Yeah, I know I'm lucky with it. I fall asleep very easy and I don't care what happen around me when I sleep. Sometimes, when my mother comes to visit me, she sleeps with me (in the same bed), and I still sleep fine, despite the terrible noise she makes while snoring.

Luck you! I just can´t sleep when the sinphony starts at home. The noise reigns all night long.

it has to do how much they weigh plus the soft tissue at the back of their throats. believe it or not, it really is a medical thing! i snore because of my nose. http://geniusbeauty.com/woman-health/why-people-snore-and-how-to-stop-snoring/

Thanks for sending the link. That really helps to understand that issue. But you see, men snore louder than women. It has to be medical thing I believe so too!

Cher913, send a link that says men is louder than women when they snore. Here at home I am the last one to fall asleep. I wait until I get so tired to go to bed, about 1am and ask my husband to stop snoring, then he stops a little bit.

Well I think women also snore ..though men snore is more noisy and loud like the person who is sleeping next to them cant sleep because of that...but I had seen one lady who was sleeping in the train and snoring sound was too loud that I could not sleep there in night..it is beacuse of some nasal problem or dont know..

I don´t know what the problem is. My father had a heart surgery and after that I notice he has snoring less louder.

Both genders snore. One doesn't necessarily do so more than another. There are multiple reasons why people snore. The two most common are sinus swelling and a sleep disorder called Sleep Apnea. Both my parents had Sleep Apnea and my sister and I have inherited it to a degree.

My mother snores so loud, it's like a jackhammer going off. So, it's not just men who snore. When I was a kid, I often had to sleep in a small closet clear across the house and close the door to get any sleep, so I understand about not being able to sleep when someone near you snores.

I remember when I was a kid, my father was like that. One day we went camping and was so embarrased when a guy next door (tent) came to us sayng that he could not sleep because of my father snoring...
