I tried to look for work for a week now. Its been two years since I have a last job. Problem is that its so hard to find a job. Right now I pass all the written exam but when its time for oral interview I failed. Simply because I can't pronounce letter "ar". Actually I can pronounce "re" or ra, re, ri, ro and ru. But I can't pronounce "ar,er,ir,or,ur". I can't pronounce them and its so hard really to find a job. Because of some speech defect.

hi bulastika! its sad to hear that you can't find a work because of it. but i think you can still find one that best fit you, a work that don't require you to speak and pronounce words perfectly. i just wonder ho you pronounce ar then?

"aw" "aw" lols.. I can't roll my tongue. But I can pronounce rain, run, etc. As long its starts with letter "r" I have no problem. That means I can pronounce "ra", "re", "ro" but can't pronounce "ar" "er" etc.. its sound like "aw", "ee".. lolz.

I don't think so bulastika, you mentioned earlier that you had a job last time. Just don't scare yourself so much because of that weakness, I hardly speak ar either, but you can open your world to anything, not all work requires you in speaking "ar", just explain your situation to employers, I'm sure they'll understand. If I'm the employer, I would surely hire you if you have what it takes;)

I don't scare myself. Its a fact. Lets face reality. If I'm an employer I will hire people that is up to standard. Let me ask you. if you have a jobseeker. Will you hire a person because he need a job or you will hire a person because of his skills? People who is better than others will always be hired. Period.

So what do you do? Did you look for therapist or something? Have you tried ways to help you pronounce "r" properly? Right now I have hard time looking for a job becuase of this problem.
