Ban Political Ads on certain stations... please

I get that politics are getting really heated now and the mud slinging campaigns are out. The politicians are trying to squeeze every second they can get to get as many votes they can get before its too late. However, I am so tired of watching a show and then having most of the commercial time filled with political ads. I thought I would be able to escape them on cable stations, but no such luck. They're there too. They're on the web. They are everywhere. Is there anyway that these ads can be banned from certain stations? Or maybe they can only run two ads per commercial break? Or something like that. While typing this out, I've already witnessed five political ads in this commercial break alone. Maybe I should just turn the television off.
