As the title says, do you get more money for creating discussions than replying to discussions? And also, do you get more money for replying to your own discussions than for replying to other people's discussions? IS there any difference between howmuch money you make for where exactly you post or is it all the same? If anyone can shed some light on this, that would be great and it would really help me and hopefully others raise our earnings if there is a difference :)

I see a lot of mylotters post like 10 discussions in one day, discussions that inspire two line replies. That is not a good thing. You would make more money doing one good discussion and replying to ten other people's discussions with well thought out answers. You can check the guidelines for advice, I haven't read them since I joined. But I know that our replies should be at least three lines, and if possible, when we post a discussion, it should be at least a three line discussion. In my experience, I seem to make a lot more when I reply to other people than just posting my own discussion. I keep all of my friend's notifiers on, so I am never at a loss for good discussions to answer. It's a really good idea to respond to your friend's discussions, because they are more likely to respond to yours whenever you post a new one. If you want, feel free to request me as a friend. I would love to get your discussions in my e-mail, because I would definitely try to reply to them as best I can. Good luck! Oh, and try not to expect to make a lot of money all at once. When I first joined, I never thought I'd get to minimum payout, But little by little, it adds up! And when you get used to the site, you start making more. Just stick with it, and you'll be okay.

Thanks for the very helpful and descriptive reply :D I'm wondering how much I could make if one day I posted 50+ replies with atleast 4 lines in each. As you said though, if I create a discussion that inspires 1 line responses, that would be bad - but would that be bad for me? Do I get more money if people write longer responses on my discussions or did you just mean it will not earn others much money in general? Thanks :)

If they only responded with one line in your discussions, that would be bad for you too, not just them.

Oh, ok thanks :) How does it affect my earnings exactly though? Does it affect how much I get paid for creating the discussion, or does it affect how much I get for replying to one liners?

I too have started a similar discussion. Its very confusing, sometimes I get more for the discussion I started and sometimes I get a lot from the ones I answered. I wish I knew where to go to search for these answers. Yes, we do need someone from the editing team to answer these questions for us or they can provide a link as to where we can get these answers..

Yeah, it would really be great if they did that. But they stated clearly that they have many secret formulae and calculations which are in place for the earnings system. The other thing is that it's even harder to tell, because the earnings are only updated once per day, and sometimes longer it seems. I guess after we use myLot a lot we will become slightly more used to the earnings system, and understand it a bit more over time.
