This is news for the blogging world. Is this the ultimate end of blog, to be acquired and bought by mainstream companies? I thought blogs offer alternatives to the mainstream media!

Techcrunch is big enough and popular enough to make money for AOL. It's not just a regular blog. Stop worrying. It has nothing to do with ordinary bloggers like you and me. Very few blogs are that successful, and most have such small readerships that hardly anybody even notices that they exist.

i know that techcruch is one of those that make it big in the internet. i am not worried or whatsoever with techcrunch or other bloggers. my discussion is pointed to the temptation to be swallowed by huge companies, and thus losing the blogging aspect once acquired. maybe i am so idealistic to advocate blogging as alternatives to the giant companies.
