there's no certificate needed outside odesk.you have to take different odesk tests depending on your skills and interests. I rewrite articles. time is not a problem because I work with my own time and pace.

Hi adit and grace! :) Yes, oDesk is indeed a wonderful site. I just started working with it too although I've signed up way back last year. adit, certificates from certain institutions aren't really required although that might give you an edge over the other applicants, hence, helpful in your application. I don't have certificates too. It is true that you need to pass oDesk tests to show how knowledgeable and skilled you are in your field. I had difficulty getting interviews before too. So I improved my resume and took more tests (bookkeeping, accounting, office and even call center/customer service). You need to write a good cover letter too. Your letter should have a good impression to the reader. When buyers (employers) check your profile and think you're a good candidate, they will even initiate and invite you to apply. I was invited for my first project! :) The first job is always the hardest to get. When you've started, work will keep coming in. Of course, you need to work hard too. Just keep on applying! Good luck! :)

I can't recommend anything because I don't know what your capabilities and skills are. only you can measure yourself. Gud Luck.

Odesk is one of kind. A good place for freelancers like me. For my first day I only worked for 2 hours and they paid me $4. It's really great.

My account was suspended there for some reason they require valid ids and othe personal stuff. Is your account active? Have you submitted the necessary requirements ? Or is it okay now to work there without those requirements ? What other site do you recommend ?
