I have watched two movies about dogs so far. The first was "8 Below" which is about the survival of sled dogs after being left at a base camp due to unavoidable circumstances. The other one is "Hachiko Monogatari" which is true story of a dog named Hachiko and his loyalty to his master even after his death. Both stories are very touching, and inspiring that could make you cry. Their story was so good that you can't even believe that it really happened. Though the movie "8 Below" was just an adaptation, it was still inspired from a true story on a Japanese film way back at year 1983 titled "Nankyoku Monogatari". I didn't expect that even the Disney movie "8 Belwow" was actually based on a Japanese story too just like the Hachiko. I was now planning to watch the remake of Hachiko in Hollywood titled Hachi: A Dog's Tale where Richard Gere played the role of Hachi's master. I was looking forward to this movie and I'm about to compare them soon. There might still be other stories there in a movie. Some are just old and probably not that famous now but I'm going to look for some soon. If you happened to watch other movies about dogs with inspiring stories, please share it here too. And to all dog stories that you have watched so far, what was the best dog story that you would recommend? -)

I will recommend both 8 Below and Hachiko (US version). I've watched both movie and for a dog lover like me, I can't help but to make my eyes watery. I was very touched by this two movies. They are my so far best dog movie.

I had watched the version of Richard Gere's. Yes, it was a good movie. It is a mellow drama and touching story of loyalty and friendship. It is a story proving that a dog is a "true man's best friend".

If you want to see cute doggies, I suggest you watch the buddies series. It features the buddies, the puppies of Air Bud. They go on these cool adventures including escaping a Cruella-de-Vil like kidnapping in Air Buddies, going to Space in Space Buddies, become a sled team in Snow Buddies and saving Christmas in Santa Buddies. It's audience are kids and since I'm a kid at heart, I enjoyed these movies... They're just so darn cute... Another movie I just seen recently is Marley and Me. I came across these as I heard it from an episode of Melissa and Joey... Cool Movie talks about how an unruly dog became a part of a family... It warms hearts...

I have watched "8 Below". It is interesting. I do not watch many movies about dogs. I think the movies I watched, with complete focus on a dog or dogs, are "Lassie" and the Beethoven series. They are family movies and they are good for killing time. They're also good for dog-lovers, especially if you want to laugh and see dogs as heroes. My favorite movie, with a peripheral focus on dogs, is Amores Perros. It is mindblowing.

I had watched the movie"Hatchiko" and it was very nice.It made me cry all throughout the movie.I can't believe their is an existing dog that is very loyal to his master.I could say you must watch it or else you will miss half of you life not seeing it. I really like watching movies about dogs because I have a pet here which is a papillion bread and has been with me for 4 years now.She is very nice, cute and most important is it makes me happy all the time especially when I am sad or tired from work.It is really true that dogs are mans bestfriend.
