How can I get free domain and hosting that I can add MySQL & AdSense

I've never had my own website and don't know much about it. I want to start a site with very limited content (2-3 pages) and I was wondering if I can get once for free, since I don't want all the additional things paid domains and hosts offer (email, large space, etc). Do you know of any free service providers?
