Do you believe the Bible was corrupted as Muslims claim? do you believe that the Bible we have today is not the same of 2000 years ago? Do you deny the Bible just because you don't know for sure it is as the same way it was in the past?

Hello lucas5, Do you believe the Bible was corrupted as Muslims claim? I 'm a Muslim and Muslims didn't make the claim that Bible is corrupted but it is mentioned in the holy Quran that the Bible is corrupted, and we believe in the Holy Quran. the Holy Quran tells us about previous books and describes them as Books of guidance and light, these books of guidance and light are, the Torah given to Moses Peace Be Upon Him, and Psalms given to Solomon PBUH, and the Gospel was given to Jesus Christ PBUH, we believe that All of these Books contains the same truth, there no conflicts between the original books, but both the Torah and the Gospel were changed. do you believe that the Bible we have today is not the same of 2000 years ago? of course NO Do you deny the Bible just because you don't know for sure it is as the same way it was in the past? this is the most Important question in my opinion, if it is proven that the Bible was corrupted what about the true parts ? How do we know which part is true and which was corrupted ? should we deny the entire Bible just because we don't know which part is true and which was corrupted ? since we Muslims believe that these Books contains the same truth, because they are from one source, we use the Holy Quran to determine which part of the Bible is true and which was corrupted. Gary Miller Gary Miller (Abdul-Ahad Omar) was active in Christian missionary work at a particular point of his life but he soon began to discover many inconsistencies in the Bible. In 1978, he happened to read the Quran expecting that it, too, would contain a mixture of truth and falsehood, He discovered to his amazement that the message of the Quran was precisely the same as the essence of truth that he had distilled from the Bible. He became a Muslim and since then has been active in giving public presentations on Islam including radio and television appearances. He is also the author of several articles and publications about Islam.

An excellent response, Gordano. I'm sorry if I used the wrong mark of respect regarding Holy Scriptures & past masters. I'll use "PBUH" from now on. I agree that it's important to get the theory or written words right. I've managed to read parts of the Holy Bible in Aramaic where these are available to me. Aramaic Primacists argue that this was the original untranslated version of the Holy Bible. It even identifies Jesus as being the Son of Allah! Using the Holy Koran to find the truth in the Holy Bible probably won't appeal to most Christians. They can however examine the views of many Christian Bible Scholars, historians & Theologians over the centuries, especially in light of the fairly recent archeological findings. I think Christians will ultimately find there to be more truth about the life & times of Jesus in the Holy Koran than the Holy Bible! I have a fair stack of literature available to me on what the Holy Koran says about Jesus, but confess I've never read it! It would probably be better coming from a member of My Lot's Muslim community, which, from what I've experienced, have conducted themselves very well on My Lot. So that's a very big question you're asking there Lucas5! In the mean time, here are the two greatest books on the subject in the English language that you may do well to read up on which you may borrow from the biggest library you're able to get to: Christ in Islam by Rev. James Robson, M.A., Lectuer of Arabic, Glasgow University The Muslim Jesus by Tarif Khalidi The latter work is four times larger, with 303 different selections & full documentation of the sources used. I have the former work with me (it will take a week of continuous reading!), but not the latter. All the Best

Thank you so much Veganbliss. in my country it is hard to find those books, but I looked up for those you told me on the internet and I read something about them. you are right, there are more true about Jesus in the Koran than in the Bible. I thought Muslims do not believe in Jesus, but now I know the true, they believe he was right there. you don't know who much you helped me, I will look for those books or something like these in My language, and I will look for help here, but you is the person which opened my eye to this subject. God be with you. I hope you do not be offended for anything I said or asked. All the Best :)

Thank you so much for your words. I went to the site you post above and start to read the book, it is really what I was looking for. I went to a website that has the translation of the Quran in English, but I read that the Translations are not truth, is that right? after you write this, I went to the internet to see the differences about the Bible and the Quran, and what your wrote came to me, the Quran teaches that some part of the Bible is right, I read that the Quran even speak about Jesus. Can you tell me what the Quran say about Jesus. Thank you so much for your help, I added you as my friend if you don't mind.

The originals texts of the Bible is not here to we check, we have a little peace of each, and what we have is at least 900 years older than when it were written, that it is old we know.

"The stories may be more or less intact, but the meanings of words have been both deliberately & accidentally mis-translated & the teachings altered & edited to suit the Church." You claim but where is your evidence? All meanings of words change over time within a language, and all text stands in need of interpretation even by its author; for that reason a translation may convey the meaning better than the original text to a modern audience. all the best urban

Sorry, my comments on this topic are "here, there & all over the place". You may find the evidence for yourself if you were to examine the documents, particularly what Bible Scholars & Theologians of the past few centuries have to say on this matter. I feel we've had a similar discussion about this issue before, but cannot think where. From my research on the matter, I've found all of the sources I've mentioned elsewhere in this topic of Lucas5's, & more besides, are in unison in being in specific condemnation of the teachings & practices of the Churches, past & present. The evidence is vast, the story is very, very long & would be best told at a rate determined by yourself. One quote I can leave you with for now is from a very thorough & detailed book called Forgery In Christianity by Joseph Wheless: "To such an extent are the origins of the Christian religion wrapped in obscurity, due to the labyrinthine confusions & contradictions & forgeries of its early records, that it is quite difficult to extricate, with any degree of confidence, a thread of historic truth from the tangle." We really must take it upon ourselves to thoroughly examine the history of the Christian Church so that we can make informed decisions on such an important & urgent matter. Thank you for your continuing interest in the matter.

The muslim shouldn't make the claim. They just exist 600 years after christian. The old testament are originally written in hebrew and that is where the old testament came from. A direct translation from the scroll. The new testament was written by the disciples themselves. Maybe there is a bit difference depend on the translation. But to claim other religion holy book corrupted is just not a wise thing to do and will bring disharmony to inter religion relationship. Making the claim that Bible is corrupted is the same as saying all Christian will go to hell and we worship false GOD. Nobody know who which religion really worship the real GOD our creator but we just believe we have make a right choice and our GOD is the real one and only GOD in this world. We only believe by faith. Until we die, then we know who is the real GOD is. Now we just believe and by faith we keep on worshipping our GOD. We believe in Jesus and we believe JEsus will save us from fury fire of hell.

I don't think the Old Testament is a direct translation from its original authors. The New Testament was definitely not written by Jesus' disciples themselves. It has already been shown from both within & outside the Christian Churches. This is pretty basic, fundamental stuff. I don't believe Mohammad the Prophet (blessed be his name), was lying when he made the claims regarding the Christian faith at the time. I'd be interested to hear exactly what claims were made & how they apply to the Christian Faith now. I believe these claims should be examined in light of the findings highlighted elsewhere in this topic of discussion & with reference also to the early historical accounts of the Church still held in the Vatican Libraries today. I think we will get closer to the truth of the matter then. Incidentally, Islam is not the only religion that makes such claims about Christianity. The Buddhists, Hindus & many others have made similar claims for many, many years.

Believing in the bible requires a lot of faith. Every question, every doubt can only be answered by prayers. I had doubts about the bible before but praying to God, asking for his guidance and wisdom has taught me so much wisdom and has cleared my cloudy mind.

Hello Lucas5! I do not deny the bible, maybe it has not been the same as it was 2000 years ago, but i think that the principles are the same, and the 10 comandament! I do belive in god and i try to do what is right. This is what the bible teaches in big lines. what else is there are just stories of examples of how to do or not to do, wich if were indeed alter, i do not think that it matters.
