Phew, that was a big list... Anyway, I watched the Commonwealth Games, and I watched my little princess from Hyderabad. I for one was surprised that she should've played for India. I am surprised Shoaib Malik allowed it, and more so Pakistanis. I don't know what the Pakistani media made of it. But I am terribly disappointed with our press. If there were brickbats for her getting married to Shoaib Malik (whom I am grudgingly learning to accept as a sportsman), there should've been praises also for her. I found the front page absolutely silent as if it were a non event. Hey, we make so much sound about giving a small amount to Pakistan for their flood victims, shouldn't we acknowledge the corresponding goodwill gesture - not forcing our girl to play for them? I dont really know whether she wanted to play for Pakistan and was not allowed, or what the CWG rules are in this context. Nevermind those rules. She always had a right to abstain, but she didn't! Great girl, Sania! Time we started looking for positives as well. What do you think?
