Although i don't know how to play the guitar,I'm still equally amazed with both instruments(the guitar and piano). Since i play the piano a little bit,i really want to learn playing the guitar.and i guess learning how to play the guitar is much harder than playing the former. What do you think?

I don't play any musical instruments. I had the ambition all these years to be able to play the harp. I think string instruments are much much more harder to learn than other instruments. Yes, I would think to play a guiter would be harder than tp play the piano. This is just a thinking. I have not tried either of those instruments till now.

It truly does depend upon the person. There are many different techniques to learning to play the guitar. Strumming. Picking. Chords and tabs. While I found learning chords difficult, I found it was much easier once I learned how to read tabs, learned some songs, and later learned the corresponding chords for those tabs. The association process made it much easier. Piano can be learned by ear, like guitar, as well as formally through learning to read sheet music. Piano is relatively simple, but the "canvas" is bigger than the guitar, as I do believe the number of possible note combinations is much greater. Another factor is the overall speed and dexterity of the player. I can read sheet music, but my mind is so slow at processing it that I don't bother. Once I take the time to break it all down, learn the song or piece, and memorize it... for me it's a breeze. Using tabs, I learned my first song on guitar in a matter of minutes after first picking it up!

I think it depends on the person, really. I don't think anyone can say that guitar or piano are harder definitively. I play piano, but I don't play guitar (I wish I did!) For me, guitar would be harder because I have small hands and reaching the chords are difficult :( I can play bass pretty decently, though! Haha :)

I think that, in my opinion, piano is harder to learn. I've played the violin for quite some time, and I can play guitar (not very well, but can still play). The piano, on the other hand, takes a lot more work. Like any other instrument, you have to hope it's properly tuned, have to play a certain way, and your fingers have to be a lot more nimble. I've found playing piano/keyboard/organ to be quite complex.
