Finn made his debut this year and played against Bangladesh and later on the weekend Pakistan and takes 32 wiickets in 8 matches...does this stats against the weeker teams really deserve the emerging player award for him considering the emergence of Umar Akmal & Angelo Mathhews who for me have performed much better than Finn and it trying conditions...why were they overlooked...its bit upsetting that his performance was above the rest 2 mentioned...i might have missed something here...what do you have to say...

Even I was surprised with this decision. However, I know "England" and "Australia" always used to push their players for award nominations and even if a player is average, they will create a hype as if he is a legend. Asian players are always avoided, that is why, even at this age, you will find English commentator sometimes comment on Sachin. Just like others, even I did not hear about Finn, he has got award only because he plays for England and not because of his performance. Half of the lbw decisions on his bowling would be just gift from umpires. :(

I never heard about Finn, so I was surprised to his name in ICC Award list. By the way he is playing for which team, is it England/Australia? If yes, that's why he got the award. But as you told he took 32 wickets in 8 matches then I can say that he is a good bowler because Pakistana nd Bangladesh are not so week team. If it was the easy task , why nobody has done till now....

I think Finn is a very good player and deserved the emerging player. I also think other players have also played well in the last year. Eoin Morgan was one of the best player that played very well for England. I thought he might have won the award for emerging player.
