Is Psalm 139:13-16 describing, discussing or alluding to the DNA?

Psalm 139:13-16 (Darby Translation) 13For thou hast possessed my reins; thou didst cover me in my mother's womb. 14I will praise thee, for I am fearfully, wonderfully made. Marvellous are thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well. 15My bones were not hidden from thee when I was made in secret, curiously wrought in the lower parts of the earth. 16Thine eyes did see my unformed substance, and in thy book all [my members] were written; [during many] days were they fashioned, when [as yet] there was none of them. Is the DNA a book? "The information in DNA is stored as a code made up of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). Human DNA consists of about 3 billion bases, and more than 99 percent of those bases are the same in all people. The order, or sequence, of these bases determines the information available for building and maintaining an organism, similar to the way in which letters of the alphabet appear in a certain order to form words and sentences." http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/handbook/basics/dna What do you think?

It could be. I had read the scripture before and hadn't thought of it that way exactly. But in rereading it from this perspective, its an interesting concept. in I Corinthians 15:37 -38 Paul did write that for the resurrection of the saints and the 'new body' we are given in heaven is not the body we have now, the seed we sow will give birth to that body. Which to me is saying the same thing. it is our DNA which our bodies will be formed.

It is a good way to illustrate DNA to compare it with a book. But it is of course far, far more complicated. I guess we are still scratching the surface - we need an eternity to learn more or maybe two eternities.. The designer of DNA must have unlimited wisdom.

The more complicated the DNA, the wonderful the Creator! It's as simple as that, isn't it? If we found a book on Mars, what would we think? Wouldn't we think that someone wrote it? Revelation 4:11 (New International Version) 11"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Let us forever praise the One who created all things, for He is worthy of all praise!

yeah..the book on Mars, great illustration. Even if we found a single paper with a couple of words written on it, it wouln´t have landed there by itself!

Issiah 40:22 " It is HE that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabinants thereof as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in". Issiah discovered the world is round before Ferdinand Magellan in 1500's. And there are so many others that are only proven true today but was explained a long time ago.

So true! The Bible is truly an amazing book. Following it would go a long way in solving all of mankind's problems.
