I've been suffering from hair loss lately but I do sleep early every night, except for a couple of days where I have tonnes of work to do. I think this is more related to stress rather than insufficient sleep. Cheers.

Male hair loss is genetic. Even if the connection to losing your hair via lack of sleep was due to stress, that shouldn't really be much of a factor. That is, unless, you like to pull out your own hair when in stressful situations. Then it would make a lot of sense.

We all know that when we sleep, the body will repair itself and this includes hair. When we lacking sleep, the body cant do the repairing and in long run, this will affect the cells, which it hair terms, means dropping.

I am 21 and I've been having hair fall problems since the age of 17-18 I believe, maybe earlier, but I haven't noticed till then. I don't know what is the reason of it, but my father is getting bald as well, but he hasn't had this problem from such a young age. It is true that I tend to go to bed late everyday, but usually I sleep more than 10 hours. But during school earlier and now during University I have to wake up early every day in the midweek, so maybe that is the cause of my hair loss. I was at a haircare specialist who told me to take some medicines and to use two types of shampoos but that didn't really help. So I really don't know what the reason of hair fall is and how could I stop it and regenerate my missing hair.
