Acts Of Kindness From Strangers

When was the last time a stranger made an act of kindness, charity or generosity in your favor? We were taught not to talk to strangers and be wary of strangers, right? But then there are still good pure-hearted souls who existed despite our jadedness and skepticism. It is not an every day occurrence for me that's why I was truly touched when a lady gave me a free movie ticket while I was queuing in one of our local mall's cinema. Last week I decided to have a break and watch a movie. The lady before me had an extra free ticket and without hesitation, she offered the extra ticket to me and she went on her way to watch the movie. She was a stranger and being generous was no big deal for her. I thanked her but I guess she was also in hurry to catch the start of the movie. I was really surprised with what she did but I am truly glad that there are still strangers who don't mind sharing their blessings to strangers. How about you? Have you done an act of kindness to strangers? Have you ever experienced accepting a kind deed, a generous act or a helping hand from a stranger? I hope you will share them here. Thanks and happy myLotting! :D

My friend rode a bus on her way to work but forgot her wallet athome. The man beside her notice that she was searching her bag and was starting to panic. He offered to pay for her fare even though he knew my friend wouldnt be able to repay her.

Hello emgee, last time a stranger did me a favor, I think i was short changed at the grocery store and some woman spared me a couple dollars. Last kind thing i did, i remember a month or so ago i was shopping and a woman was pushing around her little one in the shopping cart and dropped its blanket. so i picked it up and returned it. I am constantly thinking about being kind to others, in situations but like u said i was raised not to talk to strangers so I keep that in mind about other people when i try to do something for them. Maybe they were taught not to talk to me! So it really depends on the seriousness of the help a person needs. If it is something they can figure out and take on there own i stay out of the equation.

that was very kind. because i walk with a quad cane and am not all that sturdy on my feet, (i have bad knees and severe arthritis) i find that when i get on a bus, i have to sit right at the front which is sometimes hard to do. lots of time people will give up their seat and move to the back for me.

Yes, I have experienced kindness from a stranger many times already. It only proves that this world has never run out of good people yet. :) I lost my cellular phone in a public vehicle and I was already in my apartment when I realized it. Using my other phone, I sent a text message to my lost phone that it is very important for me. After 2 days someone texted me and told me my phone is with her. She's asking where I live so she can send it to me but I told her I'll just met her in person. She was very kind when I met her and didn't even bother to receive the reward I want to give her. I lost the phone in the city and who would expect that it will return to me. But still I prayed that it will be returned to me as it is really very important to me.

I have had strangers help me in my times of need, at times one would never expect. I use to run a yard sale every summer, I gained regular customers who some came only because they new why I was selling so much of what I had. I needed to pay my bills and they would come every couple of days and buy something. Giving is not hard for me, I have done it most of my life. My daughter I am living with is also this way. When ever she see's someone on the street with a sign saying with work for food. She will go to the nearest Burger King or McDonalds and buy a meal and take it back to them. Only one person was offended by this, saying they didn't need the food. Still she works her magic with these people :) I have actually had strangers living in my home so they had a roof over their heads until they were able to go to family or make enough to move on their own. Giving and Sharing I believe is apart of us all. As simple as a smile given to someone as your walking down the street is the magic of giving of yourself for another.

I opted for a credit card a year back. The payment to be made into a credit card is by punching in the card and other details and inserting the cheque. The earlier bank where i was transacting the method of depositing money was manual. Here i was fumbling and the person behind me helped me with the procedure. He was a total stranger. But he had helped me in my difficulty.Hope you have a great day and happy mylotting.

Your story and the other stories made me smile. In this day and age, acts of kindness seem to be a thing in the past and I'm glad that there are still people out there who care. The last act of kindness I was given was last when I had to move out of my old place. I loading my things to the cab when a man who was walking on the street helped me. He said he was on his way to work but decided to help me even though he was going to be late. The last act of kindness I did was when I helped an old lady cross a busy street.

There was this one time when I was on duty at the hospital. I went out of the Emergency Room and was looking for my classmates when I saw an old lady asking for directions to the comfort room. I accompanied her and waited for her. She wanted to call her son and we went looking for a payphone. She told me she wanted to go home but then no one was going to fetch her. I helped her out and waited for a taxi with her. Some of my dutymates saw me and asked me where I was going. I didn't mind them. I was going to tell them after I helped the old lady out. We had a conversation the whole time we were waiting for a taxi. Several minutes had passed and I knew my dutymates were already looking for me but I stood by her side. She wanted me to go but I had to make sure she got a taxi before leaving. She asked for my name before I left and told me she would pray for me so I would pass the board exams. I did, and I am very thankful. That same night, my mother, brother and a family friend got lost on their way home and an old man helped them find their way back. Helping others means a lot even if they are strangers. =D
