loosing weight

Iam nearly 60 and am a good food lover not fast food.I usually eat a bit more than is normal(?) however I am a painter daily and when I arrive home I have a bad habit because of tiredness I frequent the couch.I weigh over 105 kg and am very suspicious of all these loose weight programs:To be quite frank I dont believe in them.Now I keep hearing that you should do this and that but what?I need to loose 15kg that would be good for my legs!How? and safely!
