recently i was working at a nursing home and we know that they are always short staffed but we try to make do with the staff that we have so let me tell you about the first verbal warning that i recieved .... i was out of town about 45 min from where i live and i called them and told them that i would not be in until 4 because i did not want to leave my co workers short and that i did not have on a uniform and the adon said that is ok and to just come in so i did and they wrote me up for that so the next time i came to work and i had 13 people to put to bed so i put my people to bed and was at the desk filling out my books and took of my shoes for one min because my feet was killing me and dont you know they fired me ..... how do you go from a verbal to terminated what the hell is going on that they want to get rid of the good works for they young one s that quit and really dont want to work there

You broke a rule, and they are not obligated to give you any type of warning. They can simply fire you on the spot. You were 45 minutes away from work and without your uniform... I'm sorry to say this, but you simply were not prepared to go into work.

yes and i know that but the first time it was a verbal warning and then they just skipped the rest of the steps and just fired me .... it was three more steps after the verbal and that is the policy

Depending on what state you are in (assuming you're in the US)... they may be able to fire you for whatever reason you want. They could fire you because you don't like the New York Jets. (At Will states) Some states have laws, though, that would protect you from being fired as long as you can provide proof of the policy and that it was only the first warning.
