I think this was the most thrilling and almost a Deadlock situation in my life. Even, the fear spreads in my heart if i think about that situation now. It was the semester exam time and i'm in 7th semester of the college. 3 days were given as holidays for one particular subject and it was "Optical Communication" such a vast and huge subject.... Every subject consists of 5 units...I used to read 3 Full units and partially the remaining for every subjects . Every student will have a subscribed author's book which is the text book and another Local Author's book in hand for each subject. Almost every student will read from Local Author's book, because it will be in easy English according to us and it will be understandable !!!!We sometimes use Foreign Author's book for a specific topic. In the beginning of the semester, i decided not to read form Local Author's book for this subject "Optical Communication" so, i bought only the Foreign author's book. During semester exam's time 3 days were given as holidays for this subject. I thought it would be easy to finish 3 Full units in two days , but at the end of the First day i was able to do only one Unit. The second day started, i was reading, reading and go on reading, but i could not complete , in the noon, Fear started spreading, i thought i may fail in this exam. I decided to buy the Local Author's book and try to read faster. We have a market for our books , it was exactly 18 KM away from my house, i started my bike and reached the nearest Railways station and took a train to reach the market. I was shocked when i reached the market, when i asked for the local Author's book, they said, it wasn't available....I almost got fainted, no way !!! Fear throughout the body.. I called my friend and explained about this, he told he know a shop nearby his house, i went there and got relieved , book was available!! I bought the book !!! But, the time was gone away, it became evening after roaming for buying the book and i was tired. At the end of two days i was able to do only 1.5 units. Third day and it all collapsed...only 3 units in full..Remaining very very blank.. Went to the exam hall, For more shocking, The question paper was tricky and tough..For every semester, one paper would be having tricky and tough questions and this time it was this paper. I don't know what to do. I tried my best and recollected which i studied before the holidays and wrote something and packed it up. Seriously, i thought i'm gonna Fail. When came out, everybody were telling the same thing, we are Gonna Fail... But, Fortunately the Result came in favor of me. I just got passed with minimum pass marks.. My class had the most no of failures in that subject. I don't know what could have had happened. Even if i remember that situation now, Fear spreads throughout my body and i tremble and it will take some seconds to get back to normal !!!

ha ha Thats good that you are able to pass in the exam. When i was in college i was thinking this kind of things in every exam.. I mean i was thinking that i will not able to pass but fortunately i have completed my BE.. During school time in 12th board exam i prepared for Chemistry and exam was of Physics. I got lot scared that i haven't prepared for Physics a tall.. But fortunately i got highest marks in that subject..

Hmmm... This is a nice topic! First of all I would like to congratulate you for passing the examination. As what I know Optical Communication involves Fiber Optic Communication to be exact. It is a new curriculum of Electronics and Communications Engineering now if I am not mistaken. It is really a tough subject because you will calculate the speed of light and calculate the time the information will reach the receiver's destination in reference with the angles it will bounce the light from its origin. I had the same situation like that before. almost the same. It was with Strength of Materials subject. The professor told us to use a particular book and told us the author as well. somebody from the class asked my professor if we can use the book that he got and he gladly told the title and author of the book. My professor's face become twisted and he seemed a little bit pissed then he told my classmate that you should not use that book because etc... etc... i got really puzzled. so what I did is that I purchased the book that seemed to be forbidden to use and also bought the book that he wanted us to buy or use. That is the first time we encountered that professor because the students ahead of us still didn't encountered him. He used to teach Mathematics with the other department. He only have 2 Major Exams in one semester. Midterms and Finals. no quizzes and no prelimenaries. just seat works. not even recitation and checking of attendance. The dreadful day came and it was our Midterms. we were all shocked with the examination. the good thing, I have answered all exercises there in the forbidden book and just studied a little with the one he suggested. There were only 3 questions with our Midterm Exam. and to my surprise, I have consumed 15 pieces of type writing paper. Imagine that one. We took the exam for 5 long hours!!! I have answered only one question and I am pretty sure that it's correct then the rest was just guts alone. Luckily, I was one of the 4 who passed his exam out of 30 students. Whoa! That was quite a long response.

Whoa a quite impressive response.... 4/30 students gone through the exam? The margin was very low and u are the one who got through...Quite spectacular !!! Things here are pretty different here !! No quizzes here, they just ask randomly questions what they have had taught the previous day and these thing doesn't matter.. Internal examination and Attendance costs with assignments...But we don't mind them !!! Forbidden Book?? Why it was Forbidden? Like the Dark Magic?

I was in a situation similar to when I had waited until the night before to study for the Bio Regents. XD In 8th grade, I neglected to study for anything and that was no exception. SOMEHOW, SOME WAY... I got a 92 on the regents and I was so releived... But now being in 9th grade, I realize its no more bull, its serious now! I liked your story and its great that you passed. Congrats and don't be like me XD
