Afraid of identity theft at this point

Criminals can pick up your mails and find any sensitive information to steal your identity. Recently, I didn't receive a couple of my bills, and I just concluded three assumptions, either the credit cards companies intentionally not sending the bill and in an attempt to collect late fees, they might have done something unethical to increase their revenue. On second, the mail man misplace my mail somewhere else, probably my neighbors. Finally, some people, might pick up the mail from my mailbox, and took off for whatever reason as I described above. At the last assumption, it is scary to even think about it. Someone just walk to your mailbox and pick up your mail, for whatever reason they have in mind. Hopefully not those identity criminal. At this point, you should place an alert on the credit bureau, or even freeze your credit. Am I too paranoia?

That is true but we are living in an era when there are number of technologies are helping us to accomplish our job and that too has a good and bad side. So if we are getting benefit of something, there is a side effect of that attached. Science is such a big help and the gretest enemy if not used in positive direction so better be proactive towards protecting the interest of us.

those examples really do happen a lot these days. did you try asking the company if they sent the bills already? if yes, ask the mailing company if they already mailed it

Mailing company, do you mean post office? They won't waste time to go check it for us, and they do reply with rude attitude, because that is a government system structure. Those operators are instructed to be rude to callers, no matter what.

I am not afraid that someone will steal my mail, because in my country the mailboxes are locked and the only key belongs to the person who lives in the house or the apartment. Of course someone could steal the key or break into the mailbox, but it is not something that I generally worry about. You write that someone could walk to you mailbox and pick up the mail, I don't know what the mailboxes look like in your country. Are there no locks? I would feel less safe without the lock, and if you have a mailbox that people can open without a key I understand your thoughts. I sometimes receive mail that belongs to my neigbours, so it is possible that they also receive my mail sometimes. There are some letters that I have never received, and I guess that they ended up at the wrong address or got lost somewhere, so that is an option that I have to consider. In your situation where the bills didn't show up that would probably be my first thought.
