The Ernest Movies

Today I watched Ernest Goes To Camp, one of the earlier Ernest movies. This one of course came out back in 1997 and was about Ernest wanting and becoming a camp counselor. He becomes the counselor for a group of kids who aren't exactly the greatest kids around. Early on, a nearby mining company discovers the camp rests on a huge deposit of minerals important to NASA that is worth a lot of money. Unfortunately, the head person tricks Ernest into getting the owner of the land the camp is on to sign over the property and everyone decides to fight back. I hadn't seen any of the Ernest movies in at least 10 years now, I think. I really loved the Ernest movies up until Ernest Scared Stupid came out in 1993. Unfortunately that was the final Ernest movie I really enjoyed and as a matter of fact, that was my favorite Ernest movie as a kid. The ones after that, however, I just couldn't get into. As someone on another site put it, it just felt like the movies lost their charm (although the person felt it started with Scared Stupid. I thought it did with Rides Again) or something. Oddly enough, despite how much I enjoyed the Ernest movies as a kid, this is the one and only Ernest movie I ever have owned and I only recently just got it from a friend who has been giving away some of his movies. That said, has anyone here ever seen any of the Ernest movies? If so, which was your favorite?

I thought the first couple of the Ernest movies were hysterical then after that they just got real dumb.

I seem to remember Scared Stupid being my favorite but that was a very, very long time ago... I saw it again a little while back and it was terrible. Go for Weird Al if you want that sort of humour.
