how to get information from Refrence Books?

hi everybody. One of my friend is studying for Mass Communication ans Journalism, Distant Education. He need to refer more books. Kindly tell me, How to refer books through internet? I searched in google. the results were not satisfied. Tell me, in which way he can be guided.

Getting of information from reference book for reading a illustration and also some solved examples. i also used the R.D.Sharma for Xth class maths subject it is the best ref. book for class Xth maths and all tutor also prefer for all the stundents for using this book
