Did you spank your children?

My friend Joy told me about a time she effectively used a spanking to change the behavior of an unruly young elementary student. When Joy finally had had enough, she asked the child to stay after school. After the other children had left, Joy said firmly, "This may not happened again But I don't know what it will take to get you to change."
What do you think it will take?

i think spanking in school should be bought back to a certain extent,as kids know teachers can't hit them so basically they can do as they please,as the worst punishment given in the uk is permanent exclusion,when i was at school spanking had already gone but teachers could still throw things at you,i think if spanking was around when i was at school then i would'nt have got into half as much trouble as i did,and i would've got better grades,as long as it isn't like 20 lashings with a cane,and just 1 or 2 on the bottom then that's fine

There are lots of teachers today spank, hit their pupils because the kids today are very aggressive and sometimes they don't respect the older one. But it is not good as a teacher that they spank their pupils. The teachers might in jail if the parents sue them.

I don't think I will ever let anyone, even my son's teacher spank him. Being a mother of a 4 year old, hyper-active toddler, I admit that I get overwhelmed by his naughtiness but in no way I will allow anyone to spank him. No mother will want someone else hurt her child physically for whatever reason.

Of course wazzupabby. no mothers either parents wanted to know that the other people hurt our kids. If I am o the situation maybe I can do bad things to the people who hurt my kids. We are caring our baby and the other people can hurt them? No, its a big deal for me.

Hello donsky. We are different people so , I guess people have different ways in changing their child. But i know that it is not a right way to discipline her child into good but we find another ways. Sometimes, mostly parents can do that when their children made a big mistakes that ruined their grades.

I spanked my children once in a while when they were little. They were other times. I am not sure until now if children are not in need of a spanking in the butt once in a while.
Nowadays it seems to me that the no spanking rule has not been changed by any other thing that works better. Children are unpolite, don´t know how to behave, think a lot of their rights but nothing of their duties.

you are right marguicha. children today are very knowledgeable enough that parents cannot hurt them because they know that they have rights. But I think this is not a good way instead of changing the attitude of our kids into good, they are worse because they did terrible like not respecting the others. I saw yesterday a kid passing by the street and he saw the old man , instead of helping the old man the kid laugh at the old man and said, "common lets jog." I think new kids, youngster today are disrespectful. But the parents must do something in order their children to be changed,..

When there's no other to discipline you're child and if you really have to. But it's now prohibited by the government. You can be given a penalty even for just spanking their hands nowadays. There could be better ways to discipline a child - by being a role model or good examples to them. Remember, they could always absorb everything they see you doing and hear you saying. :)

Yeah neelia. There are another ways on how we can discipline the kids today by telling them etc. I know that even they are bad sometimes, they have also good in their heart and only mother or father can discipline their kids. Try to participate their games and after that if you felt that you are closed to your kids try to anticipate her/him and if they will listen it is the time you tell them their mistakes and how to avoid it.

That is just wrong that a teacher can do that to a pupil. I would go berserk if my children's teacher spanked them! I do give the odd tap on the hand if myn are naughty but thats as far as it goes, I would never mark or hurt them.

Yeah, teacher must the model of the student in a good attitude but it is not right that teacher spank his/ her student because I am sure that parents must be angry .
