Valentine's Day - Why Rose Is The Preferred Flower?

Why Rose Is The Preferred Flower? I've always wondered about this though i have not tried to search for the reasons here is my own theory on why it is so.
We can get roses in many colors but still its the dark red that is preffere as the flower of loved. And why is tha so?
I think true love is color red because the person who is inlove is ready to shed their blood to their loved ones. And it is also symbolizes our heart, and heart pumps blood, therefore red signifies blood. So, red means love! Just like white means purity!

You said it right,and i also figure it that way.
Why roses?,maybe because the flower is sweet scented and it's really pretty esp when it's scarlet red or pure white.
I am not a flower lover but i can say that rose is one of the most beautiful flowers that i consider.
I also like the simplicity of hibiscus and it also has different colors like roses.
I would love to received hibiscus and chocolates on next Valentines day

yah, it's so sweet that during valentines day you can experience how to love and be loved. it's so nice that there is somebody who thinks of you and give you presents, especially flowers. i really like it whenever i can received flowers, i feel like i'm in heaven and im most special significant person he had in his entire life.
