What is the best laptop to get?

I am a fan of laptop's feature and not the brand, i don't know what should i get now, our computer already gave out, after years of being with us, i am borrowing my boyfriend's notebook, that more often strain my eyes and hightens my astigmatism, so finally i want to get a realiable, durable and not at all expensive laptop.
My boyfriend wants to give me the new apple ipad, since his really techy, and its not so expensive, but i dont want a touchscreen laptop, since i want to learn more and rekindle my relationship with photoshop, and since my world would probably revolve around the laptop, i dont like it hurting my eyes too much. I like the macbook air until i found out the price, so now, i am really open to suggestion.
I want a really high memory laptop, since ilove music, games and editing.
I want it to have a built in wifi, bluetooth and dvd/cd played, i love to burn pictures and install softwares.
A user-friendly laptop too, i want to continue doing what i am doing now with a new laptop and not be stuck on trying to figure out how to make it work.
i forgot other features that i want but so far these are the important points.

I think Dell laptop is best brand. Because i like their service and also my 2 friends are using Dell laptops from 2 years. And in this 2 year they don't have face any problem related to laptop. And also they like Dell services. Because company provide home service for their customer.

Thank you, i will look into it...i also heard that dell can be customize, so i really hope they have a huge memory, so it can become my final choice.

i have to disagree. dell laptop are so easy to break. a computer specialist told me to go against dell any day. but they do make cute, but breakable computers.

I recommend HP and Dell.
They are good with notebooks.
The price tag is quite reasonable when compared to others.
I suggest that you visit the website of both these companies, configure the laptop you want and finally choose by the price difference between these two brands.

Just to check: It seems that your preference is more for function rather than lightness and mobility. If that's the case, then I'd suggest the higher end laptops of brands like Dell and HP would be more suited to you, since the Macbook is out of your budget.
The only high-powered laptops I know that handle Photoshop rather well are from the Dell Inspiron and the HP Studio series. Both these series are geared towards heavy users and are built tough. You might want to give them a look. Sorry about the lack of specs.

I appreciate the suggestion really... Dell and Hp is on the Philippine market, im just not sure which is the best store to buy one, but i would really try to compare everything and all the suggestions and find the perfect one for me...thank you so much!

The best choice in my opinion is a macbook. While it is costly, you can be sure that it is a good investment. If windows is your only choice, then I will suggest either Sony or HP. Whatever is the case, I will strongly advise you not to get an Acer. I am using one now and I can tell you their support sucks.

hp always has problems.
gateway and dell both are easy to break.
acer has cheap computers, but the quality is good.
i could suggest sony, and/or toshiba especiallly.

it depends on your needs and budget. if you're into gaming, it will be more expensive.
anyway, the following are the basic specs:
2gig ram or up
320 hd or up
10 inch monitor or up
core 2 duo processor or up
3 usb connector or up
wifi ready and bluetooth, too
clear webcam plus dolby-like speakers is a plus

According to me the best laptop I ever had is HP. You won't believe me that my HP laptop haven't seen any of the service centers. It slipped from my hands a 50 times and still it is working smooth and fastest of all my laptops. I also used TOSHIBA but needed to change the battery after a year. For my HP the battery is still the same since I bought it. I bought it on 2005. I would suggest HP as the best.

for me acer is the one of the brand of laptop and also msi.
i love also laptop. i want to buy laptop that high quality.
i want I series processor and higher RAM.

I've been a laptop pc user for so many years because it is really more practical in terms of the combination of features and price. However, using a pc really has disadvantages -- it is very prone to get viruses. Upon the recommendation of my more techie friends, they recommend the Macbook. Macs are practically virus free. I'm not that techie to explain as to why, but they say Macs are built that way. For me, it really saves from all the hassle of installing anti-virus software. Macs are a bit more pricey, but I think it would save you from the cost of wear and tear in the long run.

I'm not that that good when it comes to those thing you wanted in your laptop components you wanted to have, all I wanted to suggest is first things first, you must know how much you will spend for your laptop???Then after that,try to find those price range that will satisfy your needs, look for the best always take time to think,they also give some freebies I just bought a new laptop there at gilmore lenovo g460 it nice and have a widescreen just perfect for me,hope you get some ideas and i hope I help you in choosing your laptop.

The best laptop for me is notebook Pro of Mac, this have many softwares very interesting and dont have problems whit viruses and have a perfect hardware, all incluyed, cam, mic all incorporaded.
