It's a dark, gloomy, rainy day.

It's been raining since late yesterday afternoon. Not that it matters since it's the weekend, but I wanted to get more yard work done this weekend. Managed to tackle the front yard yesterday, trimming down the rosebush and forsythia tree, digging out weeds and transplanting some flowers. I wanted to tackle the backyard as well, removing the dead vegetable plants and digging out more weeds, and also transplanting more plants. This wont happen today, perhaps not until next weekend if the weather holds out and isn't very cold. I can't do a whole lot in the back garden with a bee's nest in the garage next door, so I have no choice but to wait until it's cooler in order to do this. The neighbor refuses to remove the nest, and I have no idea if they'll return to it next year. I hope not, but one never knows. I am going to try to patch the wall of the garage if it's possible, to prevent them from returning, but unless I can get into the yard and squeeze through to that spot, it wont happen. Days like today are why I appreciate the summer, the weather is much nicer, and far more enjoyable.

I love the Fall weather, without all of the rain. Summer seems just too hot to do much yard work. Of course, the rain certainly does not allow a person to stay out for long either. I have no idea if bees return to their old nests, but I would think thye do. Maybe, they are honey bees and that is why your neighbor refusses to remove it.

The neighbor said he loves bees and that's why he wont. I hate them, been stung a few times and don't want to go through that again. I work outside every day in the summer, so I'm used to it, I've been doing that for almost 4 years. Even when it starts to rain lightly, I'm still out there working until it gets too difficult to finish the job. That has happened several times over the years. I love the hot weather though, I don't sweat much, so it's more tolerable for me.

Yes we had a gloomy weekend. It was more dark and meh then raining outside. It was supposed to rain outside all weekend, which it thankfully did not, just a bit on Saturday morning and bit more on Sunday. Still the specter of even more rain really haunted us all weekend around these parts and there appears to be more potentially tonight, but the sun is out. Still rain can be bad, especially when you have plans. And the weekend is the only time where I can get many of these things done outdoors. So that is a double whammy to say the least. Of course the Summer was not that much better, as it was rainy or got really hot really quick. So it was not good times. Not good times at all and it was really not that good. I heard we're in for a mild winter, but I'll believe it when I see it.

It just started raining here tonight. It is supposed to rain into tomorrow morning. I hope you get things done before it gets really cold out.

I did not get yard work done this weekend. In fact, I am not really sure what I did get done this weekend. My Sundays are usually pretty busy with church. We have added Christmas Choir practice starting today. I did buy and plant another mum. I am working on beds out front, by the front sidewalk. I planted a few tulip bulbs last week. I have some dutch iris and daffodils still to plant as well. I need to mow one more time, as hubby will not. I need to seed a spot that has been low forever. We got some good garden soil and filled it in. Hopefully there will be grass there next spring.
