what does the number indicate?

the number next to my username in mylot is changing wheenever i post a new discussion or respond to a discussion. does it represent the number of posts i made? or the participation? does it have anything to do with how much you can earn? just thinking out loud........

This is another question that has the answer in the FAQs. http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx#1 The number next to your name is your rating. User rating shows your activity on myLot but it tells you nothing about the quality of your activity. Each time you respond to a discussion, your rating increases by 1. If you comment on one response into another user's discussion, your rating increases by 1. If you start a discussion, your rating will increase by 1 only when you get one response and one comment into your discussion. Your rating may also go down, when you participated in a discussion that has been deleted due to violation of the myLot rules.

I don't know. LOL. Actually I am happy when I see my ranking goes up! I mean, meaning that I am active on those interests that I joined.
