I got this German Shepperd I think she is about a year old. I want to teach her obedience training like sit, shake and simple stuff like that but hiring a professional dog trainer costs a lot of money so anyone have any advice?

One year old is a good age to start training. Of course, you must have started her training since her first day with you. But now it's not too late. Dogs can learn at any age, but they are more receptive when they're young. I wouldn't recommend you to hire a professional dog trainer even if you had the money for it. That's because it's better to train your dog yourself. This way you will have a closer relationship with her and she will respond better to your commands. There are a lot of free information about how to train a dog. All you have to do is perform a search about this topic - the internet has plenty of videos wich explains how to train your dog. Here's a good one about training a dog to sit. It also contains clear explanations. You should watch an read: http://www.ehow.com/videos-on_1361_train-dog-sit.html Good luck!

Best thing to do is to have pateience with your dog and try it yourself. That way you save money, have a sense of achievement once your dog has learned everything you taught them and brings a closer bond between you and your dog. Id recommened buying a simple puppy training book from whsmith, petcare, ebay or amazen or simple look up tips online. Start with the more simple lessons like sit. Once your dog has mastered sit take them out in the garden and practice in a wider range of places. You can then move onto down which they will pick up quickly. Make sure you have plenty of treats availabe and try and get a good variety. Dont punish the bad behaviour or get frustrated and when your dog does what you ask give them lots of "good girl". Hope this helps.

this system works and cost no money. all you need is the dog to trust you.ok you say she is approx a year old so i assume you got her from a refuge of sorts.the refuge would not let you have her unless they knew you could deal with her. first you need to take her to a confined area not restrictive but with enough room for her to manouver.then slow but sure ask her to do as you want and put her in that position ie sit push back legs down hold head up.sleep/liedown then press both back end and shoulders firmly but not with force all the time you must talk to her telling her what you are doing and then you can advance to all other things but whatever you do it must be done with the voice not the big hand of dominance.let her know that you love her and she will love you in return and she will then respond.

Training your dog can be a challenging endeavor. You can train him on your own based on what you have heard or from asking others. You can send him to dog obedience class to be trained by professionals. Lastly you may invest in a home dog training study course and train him yourself. Sending your dog to a dog obedience class is the most expensive of the options. Here we are going to discuss training your dog without direction vs. training your dog utilizing a home study course.
