I usually do a lot of estate sales and sell the items on ebay, much like that show American Pickers. Well recently I came across a small box within a lot I bought that had about 11 vintage gold rings. I'm slowly find out information and posting them. Turns out not to bad of a business since I have only 3 rings up and all have bids up to $200 so far. The picture I have uploaded with this discussion is 1/2 Carat real diamond and emerald ring with a bunch of smaller diamonds. The ring is amazing looking and the stone is beautiful. Its made out of 14k gold. How much do you think its worth? I have it listed for $199 right now but a local jeweler offer me $300 yesterday for it.

It would depend on a few things like the quality of the diamond that can make the price higher if it is without flaws. The emeralds look really green for real ones so that could also make the price go up. I would say maybe take it to a pawn store see what price they would give you. Also look for rings with the same size diamond and emeralds to compare prices. If they offered $300 it is worth more as they will sell it for a profit that is how it works. I am not sure how much of a markup they would put on it. Good luck with your sale.

Thanks and your right there are alot of factors to take in. That is why i listed it on eBay because the buyers i get on there aren't as usually picky about those types of things just as long as the rocks and gold are real. That why I'm hoping for more then the jeweler offered me. Guess I'll know in about 2 hours when it ends. 1 bid and 25 watchers so it could get interesting.

Nah its got 2 hours left on ebay with a bid of $200 plus 25 watchers. I hoping there will be a bidding war in the last few minutes. Even at $200 I'm still profiting so its a no win.

I have no idea, but I guess it is worth at least $300, because otherwise that offer would never have been made. But my guess is that it is worth much more. So I would definitely get another opinion if I were you! Sounds like you made a great deal, by the way, congrats on that!

Well I guess it must be worth at least $300 because that is what the jeweler offered you. But what I would do is take it somewhere else (another jeweler?) and ask them to value it, most jewelers would give you an onsite valuation. I would ask for a valuation for insurance purposes. Good find you made, congratulations on that.

Ya Im thinking about going to another jewelers but they all want to charge me an apprasil on the ring and I really paid nothing for it so either way I guess its a win for me. Thanks for the advice and commenting.
