Can "discussions" be a forum for seeking personal solutions...?

Daily I see many discussions posted in mylot by people all over the world on various topics. The are very enlightening and interestin.Sometime I find that discussions are started seeking solutions for their personal problems.OK.There is nothing in that. Those who could not find solutions for their personal poroblems by themselves or by close friends and well wisher ask myloters to suggest a solutibn. I agree. But the doubt I get is that mylot is global site and members are fom different countries with different cultural background.Though I amm willing to offer asolution I doubt sometimes how far it is relevant to the person who posted the discussion.Similarly people have different experiences in respect the same problem. How do you feel about it...?

I think mylot is a great forum for seeking solutions to personal problems. Though the people responding to these discussions come from different cultural backgrounds, I think these responses can provide a clue to the possible solution. Moreover, the person seeking solutions can always give more emphasis to responses from a culture similar to his/her, if there are some. Another advantage of using mylot is that the person can seek solutions to problems that his/her friends may not be able to help with and he/she has the option of getting advises on issues that may be slightly embarrassing to ask friends.

What you say is correct to a great extent. You are viewing the problem from the angle of those who post personal problems for discussion in Mylot.Mylot is really a great forum for discussions.Responses come from all over the word.It is great.I am considering the problem from the side of those who post responses. That is what I am facing. When I post a response I begin to doubt as to how far it is relevant as I come from a different cultural back ground. What if it is rejected ..I think later...

Yes, I think you are making a very good point. I think everyone who replies to these discussions (I see them too, from time to time) should keep this in mind, what works in some countries and cultures may not in others. So when giving advice it is something we should all keep in mind. If we do, I doubt this is a very big problem.

What you say is correct.I posted this discussion because many times I felt whether What I was suggesting is suitable solution or not.We can not know the nationality of the peron who posted the discussion. How can we know. There is no clue, After posting the response I used to expect some reply.None was coming. Then I began to think that I posted a wrong response. We are expected to be fair and impartial in our posting Mylot. Therefore I thought general discussi9ons and not personal discussins shoulde be encouraged in Mylor..

I think that if you have a problem and need help solving it, by all means ask...even on MyLot, but you should take the solutions with a grain of salt. Only one person can fix a problem and that's the person with the problem. They should weigh each suggestion and decide if it's workable for them. It is good that Mylot allows any matter to be posted for discussion. All are entitled to give suggestions and solutions. It is for the person to take or reject any response. The problem I face is that with diferent cultural background if you post a response how far it is relevant,,/But one thing is he getrs different views and can choose the best which suits him or her..

I see what your saying...I guess that leaves it up to the person seeking advice to weed out what's relavent to their area and culture. It does open the door to some advice though that the person might not have thought of on their own. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

After seing the responses I received for this discussion I have realised that there is nothing wrong in posting personal problems. If responses from different cultuture ..well and good. You are at liberty to choose the suitble point from the responses and act according. The responses are not binding and they are only peronal opinon of others.Luckily Myloty allows full freedom of expression of personal views and there are no restrictions..

You can imply that as your your perspective of the discussions. I think it is a good site to see what's what to the different cultures, people of the world. With these discussions we can learn differences. About the personal solutions, isn't that the point of asking questions? To me everything is personal.

Hi chayapathy, what you say is true to a certain extent ! When we interact on mylot some of the members do share some of their personal problems , so that they get different views from people. I think it is because as individuals we need to know what course of action to take.I am sure that going through all the opinions expressed by members , one can take some point or the other from each discussion and then come to a decision. It is always better to know various view points , because basic human nature is the same anywhere in the world ! All the best and have a nice day

Mylot is a global site and it allows all types of discussions and the subject can be anything on earth.Let the responses come from different cultures. What is wrong? As you rightly say we can choose some points and act according to our requirement.I was feeling earlier that whether my response has any relevance as I hail from a different cultural back ground and also I am elderly. Now I feel that there is nothing wrong after seing the responses I received for this discussion.

So you say that if peronal problems are posted for discussions it will be difficult to post responses as Mylotersare from different countrie with different cultural backgrounds and it is may be difficult to post relevent solutions. That is what I have been experiencing..

Yes. I believe some just post discussions for personal solutions. I think, the relevance of every topic in one's discussion in his or real life is out of the question. No matter how or what it may do to the person, we could simply react and write what we have to say about it. Some are just curious how people would react on the topics presented. I don't care much As long as that person would respect my views and opinions about what he or she has posted. ^_^
