I love to travel a lot. But I don't have that much money to afford behind traveling...this year I had an official trip to the US. I visited a couple of places n dey were awesome... Now one of my colleague is going to Thailand just for Rs. 11000 ($244 approx.) including air-fare (3 days+2 nights). How is dat possible? I am confused. I also want to go but don't know whether to trust dat travel agent or not... Can anyone suggest what is the cheapest way to travel around the world?

Yes, I think it is possible, actually that agent may have booked his seats under some promotion, now a days there are promotions by airasia to Malaysia, Thai and other related countries in which they are flying. So it is possible, in Thai there are different hotels with different rates, you can take shared room or others depends on you So I think it is possible to be in this fare Check Thai airline too, there are offers too from them and I ll suggest you to do every thing by yourself, check different flights and hotels on different dates, and then book it. For hotel booking I am using agoda, search for hotel rates on it Have a safe journey....

Good luck with that. It's not cheap to travel at all. You are going to have to pay an arm and a leg no matter where you go these days. You can probably do it on a budget of $1000, but not really for any less than that.

The cheapest airline routes around the world from my home country would be something like London-Los Angeles-Sydney-Singapore-London or London-Hong Kong-Melbourne-San Francisco-London. Then the traveler could stay in dorms in youth hostels or backpacker hostels. Some people manage to obtain a working holiday visa which I got for Australia when I was 20 years old. Getting a cheap flight is possible when going on a low cost airline or a last minute deal. The cheapest accommodation would be camping so the traveler would be taking a tent, sleeping bag and camping mattress. Most travel agencies can be trusted and it is wise to get travel insurance.

Many people are willing to open their homes to travelers. Chip in with a few chores, and they will give you a free meal, too. CouchSurfing and WWOOF are two phenomenal online networks that help travelers connect with local hosts. CouchSurfing members are willing to give travelers a place to sleep for a night or two. WWOOF connects travelers with organic farmers who want to trade room and board for an extra hand. Many members of both CouchSurfing and WWOOF are seeking an alternative to high- impact consumer culture.

It is expensive to travel around the world. I have never travelled abroad, even a lot of places in my own country I have never been to except some cities around where I live. While traveling, it costs a lot in transportation and accommodation and food. But a cheaper way of transportation is by train. I have always wanting to pay a visit abroad, but only some countries close to my own. I am not sure whether I can have this dream of mine come true some day. I hope so. Take care.

Hi, I also love travelling and I always wait for budget airlines promotion, then only I will book for my air ticket and have my short holiday trip. For me, i can save alot by travelling with budget airline. And for accomodation, I will either looks for hostel or 3 star hotel,if I have some relative at that country, then I will stay at their house which definitely can save for my accomodation fee.

Hi Paul, Though I have never been out of India, I believe that there are special seasons for getting discounted prices. For instance, if you go to Simla in the winters, it is going to be cheaper than it is in the summers. Also some organizations offer some schemes like - book a to and fro ticket and the rates are slashed. So best is to keep yourself update on these websites and watch out for the offers that they have from time to time. Also have an update on when there is the off-season or not so good a tourist season for the destination. Hope that helps, Cheers, theSids.

It is usually cheaper to book your trip months ahead of time and to book it during non peak seasons. In my country we also have these type of promos. They usually offer these promos months in advance and during non peak seasons. I think it would be best if you consult a travel agency.

Use low cost airlines (there are many, all over the world) or book your flights in the last minute. See if you can trade apartments or houses with someone else where you want to go (this is becoming more and more common believe it or not, and great for those living in a city specifically). And save money so you do not need to put travel expenses on your card or take a loan for them.

I would recommend You to couchsurf no matter where You go. I am not sure if You know what is it.. Couchsurfing is a non profit organisation with over than 2 million members all over the world who host each other while they are traveling, as well as organize and participate in different events, meetings, gathering or just show around the city or give recommendation on what to do in their city.
