Good Kitty!

Hello fellow Mylotters. Bootsie went to the doctor today. Getting him in the cage took awhile; he kept running from me and worming his way out of my arms. I finally put the cage up and poured him in the door. When we got there, he was just sooo good and more relaxed than ever before. He was purring when I was trying to get him out of the cage, and he even ate one of the treats he found in there. I throw treats in the cage to lure them inside. It never works, yet I do it anyway. Poor little guy ended up having blood work drawn, a urine test and a fecal test. Yet he is not mad at me. He is just such a good boy. His asthma hasn't changed, I guess that is good. I just wish there was some way to heal him. This time of year causes him difficulty. We had to get tested because the steroids can damage the liver and cause diabetes. My poor baby, I hope he never has to go through that. Out of all my cats, he is my best buddy. He always has to sit near me. Rarely is he on another floor from me. How do your cats act when you take them to the doctor? Do you let them know ahead of time they are going? I tell mine so they know what to expect.

you tell them? that's your first mistake! Mine don't know until they see me get the carrier out! They are generally forgiving tho...

lol! Yes, I do tell them. I also leave a cage out for them to play in so it is not so traumatic when I try to get them in it for the vet visit. Funny; they play in it all the time and even sleep in it, but when it's time to go to the vet they don't want to have anything to do with the cage! lol. They are very forgiving, thank goodness. None of my five kitties hold grudges. They are really sweet, except that darned female sometimes. At least she does not get mad at me for taking her to the doctor.

I figure it this way. If God blessed me with them, then I must care for them as well as possible. Sometimes I cannot afford to take them to the vet but I do what I can do. They are my responsibility, and I do care for them immensely. I try to get them to the vet for a check-up at least every couple years. Bootsie caught me off guard with his breathing difficulty. He scared me so. Fortunately my vet will let me split the payments in half so I won't have to pay it all up front and he is very reasonable. Unfortunately Bootsie has taken up a good portion of the money I try to set aside for the kitty's care, but I do plan on getting the ones that haven't gone yet into the vet for a check-up. Two others went already this year so I only have 2 more to go by spring. At least I am hoping to get them in by the spring of the year if all goes as planned. I do love my cats; they are very good companions and make me laugh a lot with their antics. I hope you can get a pet soon. It is nice to have a pet or two that keeps one company. It is also good to have pets if one is depressed because they make you have to care for them. Happy Mylotting!

lol! You must not have any........... I can't do anything without them being around and trying to figure out what I'm doing or getting into something I'm doing. Beading is a little difficult with them because they want to steal my beads and play with them! lol. I let them have plastic or wood ones but not the glass. I cannot go to the basement to smoke without them crying at the door, and usually it's Bootsie. He cannot be around the smoke, I don't want to aggravate his condition. Happy Mylotting!
