When you respond a discussion do you read just the main question or the responses of the others mylots too? I am doing this discussion because some people do some responses asking things that are answered on other respond. before you respond do you read the others responses or just the main question and answer it?

I try to read all if not many as I certainly do not want duplicate my answer, as this will then cause the poster to be bit perturbed to have to answer the same thing. So if I have something further to add I may not comment on my own separate box and use the one that perhaps I might have duplicated and add the additional comment there.

You know, lucas, myLot put this on the list of don'ts in the discussion guidelines: "Don't respond to a discussion until you've read all of the responses." http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx I try not to violate this rule. When I find a discussion with an interesting subject, I read the main question first. If I have something to say on that topic, I start to read the responses. Sometimes I see that my ideas were already written by other users, and because of that I quit responding the discussion. But if I think I have something to add after I read all the responses, I write a comment. It isn't pleasant for the discussions starter to read the same response again and again. I think it will be a form of respect we show to the discussion starter if we read all the responses and add a comment only if we have something new to say.

Of course I read the other discussions unless of course its a question about personal experiences etc which means no matter what has been said above I should comment. I do hate it when the comments are all the same and people reply and not adding any value to the discussion at all. Have a great day!

I seldom read other responses of others. I just go ahead and write my own response according to what I feel saying. Just like this topic. I just post this response without reading other answers of the members who posted theirs here.

I'll just answer it. Because after reading those responses, it'll sort of change my mindset. Sometimes it just stops me (mentally) from commenting... x.X (not only Mylot...I'm like this in other forums too. ToT) So, now. I've found a solution to it. That is to post my response before reading those responses. XD
