I hate to sound like Scrooge, but i will definitely not have any money to splurge for Christmas. I, thankfully don't have any children of my own to buy anything for. I do have a cute little niece who is my precious little jewel. I am currently disabled, and receive sporadic insurance checks. I guess if people truly love me, they will not expect anything because they know that I am broke as a joke.

if you have any hobbies you can make gifts. we are pretty broke as well. my hubby was off 9 months and i only work part time (i have fibromyalgia) so we dont have a lot of extra cash. i shop throughout the year for gifts plus i make a lot of stuff for Christmas as well.

You are not a scrooge just practical. I can't tell you how many people just like you are in the same boat so dont feel bad because life is hard for everybody right now. Sometimes a gesture, a call, a note means more than all the other stuff.

I don't think you're a Scrooge at all. There's a big difference between having a lot of money and being stingy and refusing to spend it on presents for other people and being broke and you can't spend money on presents for other people.
