Is the law different for those with money?

I see the news all the time and see these celebrities getting away with things that the average citizen would go to jail for. One celebrity says she can't pay 50 thousand for drug rehab but can go out and spend 10 thousand for a shopping spree. What the heck? The average citizen would have had to come up with something better then I can't afford this. I don't understand why is this happening? Just because we are poor do we have to the same justice? What is wrong with this country? We are voters we can change this don't you think?

You said it celebrities, they are not part of our world. They are in a world of their own and they think what ever they do it is OK because they are not a normal person like us.

Hi Ekobernie and welcome to my lot. I do believe your right they at least think they are in a world of their own. It is still sad that the law will do for the celebrities but not even think about the normal joe like you and me.

I totally agree with you. If you have money and you are famous you get away with so much in this country. Its just so not fair to the average joe out there. This is why so many famous people end up dying so young because they get to many chances with the law and no real punishment for them to learn their lesson. Lindsay Lohan will unfortunately be the next one if she doesn't stay in rehab for at least a year. We the voters can change the law but to many just don't care.

Hello free_man, 100 percent yes, law favours people with money. The more you have the more you can get away with it and buy yourself out of crime especially if your laywers know the laws really well. I seen with football stars, Hollywood star look at Charlie Scheen for example and Robert Downey Jr. etc.. to Policticians and Judges and lawyers themselves and doctors etc.. Thanks and have a great day Sincerely Unique16

Hi Unique. I just plain don't understand why the rich get to do a crime and get away with it. I don't think that is how the law should be. But then lets face it the rich are mostly the ones that put these officals in the postion they are in. A lot of poor people don't realize the value of the vote. Thanks have a great day yourself.

Yea it is a bitter truth that the law is different for poor and rich, if the rich get in jail due to any crime they come out in minute whereas in case of poor people they police treat them poorly and it is all because of money. Happy mylotting. Regards, harry, :-)

Hi Harry. I just get upset that the rich seem to get away with a lot of stuff when a poor person can't seem to get a break. And it seems to me that the rich people after getting in trouble seem to flaunt the fact that they got away with something. Well they may think they did but one day we all have to face Christ and face true judgement.
