How do you advertise a piece of property?

I had this deal with a friend. He promised me that he would help me find leads in my Multi-level marketing business and in return I help him sell a certain piece of land that he owns.
Where do I start with the advertising? Who should I advertise them to? Generally, how do you sell a piece of land?

...Hi there strawberryboy, Lasnd is a little different kind of animal to market. You probably should research to see who owns other land or homes in the area to see if they mght be interested in another piece of ground in the same area? The people who own the property next to the vacant lot might be interested in expanding their ground for any number of reason. Make up an interesting flyer and mail it to them with the contact person's information on it. Land can increase in value as well but not as much as land with property on it. Unless the owner gets lucky and finds a developer who would like to build a spec home on it and sell it. If there are homes in the same area, I would contact a few small developers to see if they had any interest or could tell you someone who they think might be interested. A serach to see what has happened to property values in the area in the last year would be a good idea. The size of the lot, any acquired permits for building, or utilitues, location, nearby schools, malls and churches should be included on the flyer. The price is important as well, along with the contact person or real estate agency involved.
Include a picture of the lot on the flyer though it is boring it helps to have a visual. Good luck.
