Does anyone use Amazon web services?

I just wondering if anyone here ever use Amazon web services to promote their own sites to sell anything, or simply do it for fun? At first, I thought it was free, but after I read the description, it wasn't free at all. You have given your billing address and credit card; and the service only free for a year, and you can't overuse its storage, otherwise, you will be charged too. I was wondering how much help do you get from using Amazon web services to promote your site? Since it requires credit card number information, I guess I pass it.
