On a business trip

I have been on a business trip to Changchun, the capital city of Jinlin province in Northeast China, three times in the past month. It's such a long journey that I do not know what to do. At the beginning, I usually watch magzines for one or two hours after I got on the train. But there is still more than four hours left. How to arrange the left hours is a problem to me. Probably, there is one person sit next to me, I want to have a chat with him/her, however, the problem is I do not know how to start a chat. Do you have any good advice? Or what will you do on an official business?
