Do you ever watch the antique road show?

We watch it all the time. We seen on there several things that we wouldn't have known about. Today we seen this neckless that was worth 3 thousand dollars. This lady said she brought it from a church sell for a dollar. I get surprised when I see something at a garage sale or thrift store that looks like it might be worth more then they are asking for. I think it would be a wise thing to have things appraised before selling it. So do you watch the antique road show? Do you wonder if something is more valuable then you paid for it? Have you ever been on the antique road show?

Of course we have the UK version and I love it, especially when a person says "as much as that" with a huge look of disappointment on their face lol. I really hate it when the person bringing the item in has obviously researched it beforehand on the internet and just wants it confirmed a) what it is and b) how much it's worth. My favourite expert is the jewellery guy called Geoffrey Munn. He's such a romantic and I love him to bits. I always look forward to seeing him as he usually inspects an awesome piece of jewellery you just know is worth thousands as he likes to keep us all in suspense.

Hi Janey. I love that show too. It is so exciting to see what people actually pay nothing for it and then it is worth so much. Like that lady found a necklace for a dollar and it turned out to be worth so much more. I would have been shocked.

Oh yes, the genuine ones stand out a mile don't they? I also love it when that happens, it tends to make my day seeing their faces light up with joy at finding out something they thought was worthless was indeed worth a fortune. It's great!

Hi Janey. It makes me happy to see it when they really don't know that they have gotten a treasure out of someone elses trash. I think it is so cool!

I actually haven't heard about this show until I read an article somewhere that Robert Pattinson actually loves watching this show. I do hope this show airs here in the Philippines. After reading most of the replies, I think I probably would watch this kind of show since it would be funny watching the people's reactions after finding out the worth of the items they brought.

Hi Mj_macjas and welcome to my lot. It is so cool to see some of these people they are actually surprised that they have something of value. I don't know if it airs in the Philippines. But it does here in the USA. I love watching this show. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah. I love that show! It always makes me wonder what I've got that might fetch a "pretty penny". lol. I've got a bunch of stuff that I know SOMEday will be worth some money. Most have some sort of value now but I know that if I hang onto them and pass them to my kids, they're going to get enough to maybe help them out a bit after I'm gone. Nope. Never been on the show. I live in Argentina so don't think it's a very good possibility! lol! Whenever I'm in the States, though, I look to see if they're in the area that I'm in. You never know, you know? lol. It's really fascinating to me how somebody can have something just laying around and it turn out to be worth a few hundred bucks. Or, they bought something at a garage sale and it turns out to be a priceless antique. So cool! Great show.

Hi Veromar. I haven't ever been on that show either. I don't have anything of any value. I used to but my ex stole a bunch of stuff from me that could have been worth a lot. He has a clock from the 1800's that is worth a lot of money. But his family would kill him if he sold it belonged to his great grandfather.
