My new pup worried?

Me and wife got a new puppy this week. But its almost 6 months old. It doesnot have testis, my vet says it may be due to hormonal problems. But its hard to believe dogs having such problems. We thought to mate it with our labrador, but now i feel sorry to see my cute puppy which is very innocent and it worries me how nature can do this for him.
