If you ask any cricket fan to describe pitches in India he or she would say, first two days good for batting , third day it will start providing some spin and last two days it would favor the spinners or bowlers. This was good to get a result in the match but now the pitches are great for batting even on fourth and fifth days .Yes there were results on these pitches in India Aus series but both these teams play attacking cricket hence result is very much possible. But in India NZ series like their coach said before start of series that they would be happy to draw the test matches and same thing is happening .I think pitch curators are doing a miserable job in India .Frankly speaking its a pity to see spinners not getting any kind of help from the pitch even on fourth day.First a disappointing pitch at Motera and now Hyderabad .Is it so difficult to make a sporting pitch helping both bowlers and batsman?

Hello grvdubey....... Most Pitches in India are made for favoring batsmen. This has began from the recent start of T20 tournaments, pitch curators prepares batsmen paradise so that more people can be attracted to come and watch the game of cricket. I am saying this because i have seen majority of people enjoying sixes more than a bowler bowling out batsmen. In my view pitches can improve by making changes in curator committee, just as we are bringing foreign coaches in our team we should also bring curators from England, South Africa, and Australia so local curators can understand what professionalism is.

When matches held in India the first problem arises about pitches every time from players to media, this is not a new matter but from many years,The real fact is there is not enough sporty pitches in india almost all grounds(may be in very few) that can support bowlers as well as batsmen so result is surely possible in most matches.BCCI is a powerful cricket board so it better they concentrate on pitches too.

i dont know but you were right about one thing.the reason the india australia series last month had results because they were competitive. look at last match.batting till the tea of day 5 and giving just 24 overs and today, declaring after tea with a lead of 350+ when you could have set the target of 255 with 45 overs remaining.it would have made the contest. as for spinning, well we have to be honest.we dont have a murali or swann or even kresja in this match. we got bhajji, ojha and vettori who dont spin the ball much.
