Were you ever a Mr. or Ms. popular in high school or college? Or were you unpopular? Is it possible to be neither- I think I am...I'm not really popular but some people did know me because I was in the school paper and won some awards. I don't really like to be a Ms. Popular since i think of it as a hassle because many people either love you or hate you and talk about you behind your back..You don't really know who your real friends are..

i kept a low profile during my schooldays as i was quiet and shy. but i was kinda popular in some ways because of my soccer-playing skills, pencil-sketching skills, and of course due to my background hailing from a different state (alongwith several other mates) with a different culture, looks, etc. i was recognized by all right from the first year because i was a good footballer. i remember them cheering me and my team whenever there was an important soccer match and that inspired me to perform well and i had a great time with respect to playing. i loved playing soccer and love the game so much that i even thought of taking it up as my career which, of course, didn't come true owing to various reasons. regarding pencil-sketching, it was secondary with respect to my soccer playing. still many recognized me for it and i remember inspiring others to start sketching after i did my first sketch way back in 1998 when i was in the 7th grade. it was a picture of Kate Winslet from Titanic. it looked so real that the sketch got passed around and many started following suit. a series of sketches followed thereafter which include many soccer players, sportpersons, etc. i was even asked to do several sketchings for our annual exhibitions, weekly magazines that were displayed on boards and other functions. basically, sketching was the second reason why i was quite popular in our school.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences in high school.. I wasn't really popular because I was average at everything; kind of smart in all subjects, knew how to draw but not that good... except for sports- I know nothing about it,I'm not athletic but I do like to watch it...

I wasn't popular nor unpopular in high school but most of my classmates would never forget me. I've gained popularity when i was in law school though. Being popular was something that I didn't dreamed of. I just like to do my thing and i don't care much if people dig it or not. There are some that really cared for me and there are others who hated my guts. It's just because I was so carefree.

I would love to be like you sometimes.. A person who doesn't really care what people think of him or her. You see,I am a person who is sometimes overly conscious of what people think of me. But I also have people who truly care for me..my real friends.

no, i'm not... i never been a popular person in my whole life... i'm just happy being an ordinary person here... like you say, if you are a popular person, you won't know who your true friends are as they try to get close to you just to make use or manipulate you... take care and have a nice day...

I'm happy being an ordinary person too..but sometimes I get curious how another life would be like. There are always good things and bad things about being popular, and being ordinary...

I wasn`t exactly Mr Popular because i never wished to be one nor did i have that attitude at all.In fact i always had a friendly attitude which has been my nature all along, during schoo, college and even in my working phase. People have always liked me as i have never put on airs and so i haven`t made any enemies either.I have never had fights or quarrels with anybody as i have always been the type of person who gets along with anybody.I am not boasting but this has been my nature since my childhood. My ego has never come in my way.I,of course have my faults like any human being and one is to trust everybody.I have suffered because of that but being of a forgiving nature i have taken all the hurts lightly and in my stride.

I was in a very eclectic group. I was the brains, I was in the top 20 or so of my graduating class. I had friends who were in shop, friends who were slackers and only passed because i had already taken the classes. My best friend was essentially a greaser. Her dad owned an auto repair shop, and she could rebuild car engines. I had a band geek for a prom date. We are still in contact, none of us were overly well known, but were not complete unknowns either. We did not fit into the in crowd because we did not drink or smoke.

I think it's really good that you don't drink or smoke..I don't do that either. I think people should not give in to peer pressure and stick to what they believe is right. drinking and smoking is bad for our health

I think I was somewhere in the middle. A lot of people knew who I was. But my boyfriend throughout high school was on both the foot ball and wrestling teams. That may have had something to do with it. I had several good friends. I am still friends with them today.

I have not really been a Mr. Popular even though i am quite capable of being one. There was one time, i performed drums with my friends at our college fest and my name was in the talks for a while. That is because not many people know i play drums, i mean i am not any pro or anything but it was entertaining. After the show, a classmate of mine said she and all our batch-mates wanted to listen to me drumming with another friend of mine who played guitar with me at the show, he is in my department and a good friend of mine. I was kinda blank and said okay we will see about that. I gave excuses, how would i bring such a big thing and set it up at our department and what exactly will i play and all. I don't really want to be Mr. Popular, for the silent type of person i am.

I was not part of the popular scene in high school. I was still a bit shy and awkward. I had not found my wings yet. I was a bit of a loner with my own group of friends. I didn't become more out going until near the end of my school years.

I too am not miss popular nor am i unpopular for i know a lot of friends from different block sections. I don't want to be miss popular either for i am really ashy type of person and i don't want people to be staring at me and talk behind my back that im somebody known in the school. I don't want to be unpopular either for others may think im a loner and no friends at all. It's better in the middle, you have friends and you know you are comfortable with them and that they will not be talking behind your back.

No I was never like that. I was one of those students that well people knew me. I made sure people knew me, and knew that I wouldn't bother with some of the games that high school students tend to fall into. So while I was known, I did not fall into the final step into becoming popular, but I was known. I will tell you that much. I do think that popularity is a bad thing. Especially it could end in a snap of the finger. Today's popular person could be tomorrow's afterthought. High School life is very scattered in general to say the very least. So I never was really popular. Known but not popular I think. Which is rather good, as when you are popular, you tend to not get any peace and people are always surrounding you. It seems like it can get overwhelming at times.

I was really a so-so when I was in high school. I ran for the presidency for the school's government and unfortunately I lost. Some people knew me, others not that much! ;)

In both high school and college I fell into the neither category. I never wanted to popular because I'm a behind the scenes kind of person, but I was in a lot of actives so I was still known by a large amount of people.

Yeah I admit I'm just a nobody back in my high school and college days but as saying goes nobody is perfect therefore I'm perfect. It's just a joke so don't take it too seriously guys I just want to cheer you all up because It's kind a hard being a nobody. They don't even notice your existence.

I'm not Popular and i don't want to be like that or similarly like this and it doesn't mean that i'm unpopular. It means that nobody is aware of me. only my classmates would know about me and my staffs would be knowing some good parts of mine . I always maintain a low profile status , just entering and exiting the college in a simple manners and being polite. This leads me to be an unknown person for many. This is the best practice. Even i have won some medals in school, yet i remained unknown !!!

I don't really that popular while in the high school. Rather geek I guess.Lol But I have a good reputation in the college as genius and handsome. Just as you said above. There are a good part and a bad part as being popular. If I like the good part, I must endure the bad part! :)
