Is Green Day cool?

I think Green Day had its better days before. Remember Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and Basketcase? In my opinion, their older songs and albums were much better, maybe because they were one of the few punk bands in that time. But now, there's just too much of those punk bands around that it gets kind of monotonous hearing the same kinds of songs. Still, I think their musical abilities are superb and their lyrics are really cool.

I used to listen to Green Day quite a lot several years ago but nowadays not that much, and if I do it's only the older albums. I haven't really been up to date with their newer stuff, but from what I've heard I prefer the old stuff better.
